Even with Adori, you shouldn't be able to beat Gustang. Imo, You'll need one of the three lords (the most powerful or most appropriate counter would be essential) and a shit ton of op spells or items.

Ending for this arc is somewhat anti-climatic considering the scenarios they were all involved in. I don't think Baam is the one that it wants killed in exchange to save his friends. If it is the case then Baam got saved by plot armour in that encounter, tbh.
