I doubt that Shounen Shoujo was considered as a long running Manga anyway.

Maybe he just didn't planned out a new series that would fit in WSJ or any other main magazine but at the same time he didn't want to do nothing!?

To be honest I really enjoyed series like Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa, Koisome Momiji, Pajama na Kanojo & Koganeiro. Himedol was okay too.
