Ryo Nakama and Hitsuji Gondaira? Feeling like 2020 Jump all over again. High School Family: Kokosei Kazoku is one of the underappreciated gems of the decade, and I've always craved to read Isobe in its entirety, so another Ryo Nakama manga is always a good thing in my book. People will disagree...

Decided to shift up my approach to my chronological journey through Jump. Instead of taking it year-by-year I'm going to binge each new series in order of its publication, like I would if I discovered it naturally. I'll post a more concise overall review as I complete them. Some things are out...

Ignore the shark... it's dangerous waters out there. To be fair, Under Doctor feels more like a genre-hybrid at this point between the medical/character drama/episodic life/action depending on what gear Kyo Tanimoto wants to shift it into for that week, don't think it's that simple to...

I don't think the new batch will start just yet, but I would be down for an all newbie round (and Bleach, if this is the time). If I was Saito right now and I got to have the one-shots by up-and-comers serialised that I, as a fan, want to see, it would have to be: Canvas Terra (Kuji Tabigoro)...

So true guys! The best-selling manga in the whole industry yet to receive an anime adaptation is going to get cancelled because it's unpopular : ((( To me this whole thing is an obvious combination of: Hokazono struggles with the week-to-week output, he's doing shorter chapters and getting...

The way I just got teleported back to winter 2024 when Sharkbait would claim Kagurabachi was terrible and going to get cancelled in every post. A sensation somewhere between fight or flight and muscle memory kicking in. Chills.

That's a fun (in a noteworthy/non-boring way) TOC for a few reasons: Another Ichi the Witch cover? No colour page for Sakamoto Days next week, which makes me think it's not going to end so soon Under Doctor at #3, which is kind of bonkers since not too long ago it was dead last, at least it's...

If it's easier, here's the full list: Fukashi Yukio (Tenmaku Cinema) Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez (Bleach) Roronoa Zoro (One Piece) Guriko Arakawa (Akane-banashi) Smoker (One Piece) Kensei Muguruma (Bleach) Isshin Kurosaki (Bleach) Tengen Uzui (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) (Young) Kishibe (Chainsaw...

You know what, you've just inspired me to update my list of the hottest men in Jump, you're welcome.

UGH, that Akane-banashi chapter. After all the excellent performances we've seen on the boat this arc, having this circle back to the ~winners~ in their moment together, and the series-long build-up of this confrontation where Akane can finally get closure on what Issho did to her father... and...

I actually agree, the toilet humour was shit but I kind of crave for the way it was initially being set up, before or after the setting shift. This feels like an arc that would have happened maybe 50 chapters in by how it develops on the premise (and series title), but how it’s played out here...

Congrats Nue's Exorcist fans. Let's see the staff and studio and if that elusive tweet proves to be a foretelling another way that Nue fans can be annoyed at Saito. Akane-banashi continues to be a league ahead of the rest of the magazine. What an amazing performance by Issho. Delicious...

Honestly, nothing lifts the spirits like a recent batch of serialisations hitting in the way you want them to and giving you hope that they might stick around. Neither are in my top 5 for this issue either (twas a really good week) but The Ura Report continues to lean into the heavyyyy BokuYaba...

Haven't posted in a month so here's a long overview on my thoughts: This Hunter x Hunter batch has been excellent (duh), appreciate that Togashi stuck entirely with the Special Martial Law storyline and all the fallout there on Tier 1. In particular, this last chapter was up there as some of...

I still haven't gone fully into the quality of the translations for Manga Million, so they may be shit based on the very loud conversation about the use of AI (despite their claims otherwise), but let's see. At the very least, the two major completely untranslated series that have a chapters...
