I don't know y it's so hard to grasp the concept of lava vs fire. If u think about it lava does the same thing to fire as dirt does. It cuts off the oxygen (or whatever fuel the fire is using) supply to the fire so it can't burn any longer. So no lava doesn't "burn" fire but smothers it instead...
