usually when a character remembers something before a fight they use a new move and win the fight

in those fights they were only getting hurt a bit they can be healed instantly while what happened in this fight can damage your windpipe it gets explained in the sports festival that their bodies are changed a bit to use their quirks better but still have a humans limitation
