Now with how things ended there is simply no chance for Erza and Irene to interact ever again. Even with this whole new afterlife plotline... Irene has literally been sent to another world and reincarnated. It's like he brought her back just to get rid of her so her and Erza don't have any hope...

People still say this lol, it was never based on any objective reality, just their own hatred of Erza and wish for her to not have any screentime and be demoted to a minor character with no fight scenes or relevance.

Irene is dead. She achieved what she achieved in the OG manga. The only thing left for her to do is make amends with her daughter before completely disappearing. Sure Erza did not see her as a parent, that's why they needed to interact so she could change her mind and acknowledge her as her mother.
