Actually, it was 6th from the bottom that issue. It has been either 6th or 7th several times during its run, but this is literally the first time its been in the bottom 5 in its entire 8 year run.

Yes. New series always take the cover in the issue they start in Weekly Jump, with very, very few exceptions over the years (nothing even remotely recently).

Really hope Tabata gets some rest. That 9 page chapter a few weeks ago had me worried enough as is, but to go on a hiatus without even a generalized return date is concerning.

Not in Weekly Shonen Jump, no. It will still be weekly on Jump+, though. At the very least the next chapter will, but it isn't moving because of a scheduling conflict, so Yabuki will likely release it weekly still.

THAT makes a lot more sense. It has reached its climax, at least in Weekly Shonen Jump. I knew there was basically no way it was actually ending with the anime coming on top of Yabuki saying it was at the halfway point just like 20 chapters ago.

Hmm. Either way, announcing a climax in the style of "ending in a couple of chapters" kind of climax simply doesn't make sense story wise.

A little blurry when you zoom in on the fine print, but is that not the kanji they use specifically to denote an arc? As in, that message reads "arc climax" and not necessarily the climax of the whole series.

The series has been pretty steadily declining since Dressrosa, actually. Has little to nothing to do with Wano. It's just that it's a 25 year old series. Most series that run that long tend to see significant decline.

iShoujo is the most notable example. Lasted 3 volumes in WSJ and went to Jump+ for another 11, I believe it was.

I genuinely love to see this. Viz was never going to do volume releases, and it would have been kneecapped even if they did.

I think the general argument is it belongs in the bottom 5, but they rarely ever put it there.

I know it has had bad ToC placements lately, and I know Amazon rankings obviously aren't the best indicator, but Ayashimon vol. 1 is at #522 in graphic novels right now. That's just behind Roboko vol. 7 at 486. I think if it keeps that up, and that's any indicator of sales elsewhere, it's likely...
