Actually Mael was seen in the canon Heaven's Prisoner chapter that takes place 3000 years ago just before Meliodas met Elizabeth and triggered the holy war. He used Sunshine and ended up retreating from Meliodas after a short fight.

I didn't add the sinner because Cusack and Chandler were on the list individually, which is fairly obvious. I don't care how many versions of Meliodas you think are above Escanor, he gets one spot as he is one character. Escanor is rightfully #3 on my list.
