He used a denoising filter as Topaz Denoise...I suggest you to use it and the result will be better...:) P.S. The raw you used is very Low Quality....

Well, the second attempt is very good if you have been a cleaner since not so much time... I think you overburnt some SFX and so their lines are aliased... About the gray, if you usually don't redo the gray areas is good...
