There's some shoujo who aren't school romances, but I noticed that many shoujo have the same plot over and over, which is the reason why it's targeted to a very niche audience (aka teenage girls) while shounen has more variety and expands the horizon to a wider target audience.

The shoujo artstyles are almost invariable. There's only 4-5 types of shoujo artstyle and the guys always look the same because of their bishounen appearance.

I would rather see The King Arthur into a shounen manga with bordeline seinen vibes in it (like Death Note, Deadman Wonderland, Qwaser of Stigmata...) and a certain French novel I read (forget the name of that novel) into light novel with loads of illustrations or rather turned into manga or anime.

I generally watch anime weekly (in order to not be late with my favorite series !!) and I read manga irregularly.

Kirino from Oreimo is another female character rarely loved by few and hated by most people. The same go for Index.

The only manga I really wish would last longer was Mayoi Neko Overrun! : I'm really sad. Poor anime DVD/BD sales, poor manga sales (which led to cancellation with 2 volumes) and even the light novel changed illustrators and last with 12 volumes instead of continuing longer:mono.
