Nope. None that I recall for MHA. At first, most Jump loyalists simply deemed it a good manga when it first came out. It wasn’t until after Naruto ended that people started flocking to it. Which would be vol. 2 & up.

That’s a fair enough take. It’s just simply different strokes for different folks. For me, if the first 5 chapters doesn’t immediately make me curious to see where this character/story will go, I’m dropping it.

Unpopular opinion: I don’t think being nice to a little kid makes a stoic character “deep”.

In that case, I think Hokazono did a pretty bad job of introducing him, imo. You wanna know who I compare him to the most? Goblin Slayer. A (near-) robotic, vengeful warrior obsessed with wiping out an entire race because of his horribly traumatic experience at their hands. And yet, I favor him...

I would hope so. But so far, I haven’t heard of spoilers heading towards that way. If it does though, I might change my mind.

I think WSJ needs to figure out the right ratio of Western/Domestic votes to decide whether a series is worth keeping around. But more than anything, they really need better editors who can spot talents that understand storytelling. I don’t know what exactly the backgrounds of these editors are...

I somehow really doubt that. Do we really think Kubo wants to put himself through the wringer again pumping out a full 52-chapter series (assuming for one continous year)? I see the whole thing as a 30-chapter sequel series imo.

Problem is, I’m not on twitter. So if anyone would be willing to compile his data, or show where he keeps his archives outside twitter (imgur, or any image hosting sites) that would be much appreciated.
