Hopefully Togashi addresses it in the upcoming chapters :3c

Is this any different when it comes to other manga/anime. You already know that the main character is either gonna beat the guy or live to tell the tale another day. It depends how you write the situation to give it value. Gon's transformation had value. The build up was great and he suffered...
