To speculate even further, what if this is all a dream but it is not unohana's bankai that causes the dream but instead the new captain commanders.
Her bankai could be the super deadly dissolve everything mist thing. Just spitballing ideas here

who wants to bet her bankai is a dream... would explain the instantaneous healing after deaths that zenpachi experienced and why he was talking about dreaming in the chapter

Lets not forget he also has the black heaven and earth technique that was left on his phone for him as well. Which Im curious about since it doesn't use ki techniques. You would just need to have a ki center to get it started then it would run on its own until you ran out of ki at least thats...

From what I saw it looked more like she was grabbing and hugging them rather than being assaulted by them. If you look at the pic closer you can see she is holding them and in the previous panels you see her arms shooting out.
