And why do you think that the barrier keeps the reiatsu of 'flowing out'....? where is it stated? I think the barrier is for not letting the hollow-ichigo from coming out... As for the base... if i'm not wrong, they came out of it and went to that 'oh-so-similar-Urahara's-hole'... OR maybe...
