I agree. Naruto's growth stalled at a certain point. Wanting to be hokage was just a child's dream. Kishi missed that opportunity to make him grow up and I think it would have been easier to write if he allowed Naruto to grow.

Going back and reading anything pre-kage summit. So good. That's how I want to remember Naruto.

Couldn't have said it better. Besides Sasuke making no sense (what does he mean, lurking in the shadows, being a necessary evil? He's gonna stir up trouble to keep the nations aligned? That's so painfully stupid), this fight is just chakra flying back and forth. Kishi used up his best stuff on...

I completely agree with you that it used to be very cohesive. The first half of the series holds up extremely well if you go back and read it. However, I think it started falling apart during the Pain arc. Naruto being able to perfect senjutsu in a week takes you out of the story. Naruto being...

So I just looked back and realized that the war started 3 years ago. Naruto and Bee's fight with Obito started over 2 years ago, and the Jyuubi arrived on the scene over 1 year ago. I've been reading this manga for 6 years (caught up in my first year), and for half that time it's been shitty. If...

The major flaw of most people on the forum is that they're in denial about Kishi's writing. They think he cares about tying things together anymore so they attribute incongruities to the characters. "If things don't make sense it's because Tobi is a liar." Tobi has no reason to make up half...

Re: Naruto 606 Discussion / 607 Predictions I'll interpret the lack of posts as a consensus that this was a shameful, shameful origin story of tobi. The black zetsu and black rods being madara's manifest will is so lazy. Also, why does obito refer to himself as Madara? No reason to.

Re: Naruto 596 Discussion / 597 Predictions What? No we can't. We haven't seen the samehada used on anyone since bee transformed. For all those making excuses for kakashi's infinite chakra, please stop.

Re: Naruto 592 Discussion / 593 Predictions Compared to the garbage that was the past 10 or so chapters, almost any development would be an improvement. Yes, happy to have oro come back. Madara was the one justifiable edo tensei so its good that he's still around. And it is laudable that...

Re: Naruto 591 Discussion / 592 Predictions Yeah, having Dan and Tsunade meet was completely necessary, that was a loose end and it was one I really cared about getting tied up. Just more another sentimental moment from Kishi that's as light as air. Not only was it unnecessary for Dan to...

Re: Naruto 580 Discussion / 581 Predictions I'm sure someone must have mentioned this already but let's just be totally clear that he doesn't need the glasses to see. He wasn't wearing them when he brought yamato back to tobi's lair and he could see just fine. It's just stylish. Style...

Re: Naruto 579 Discussion / 580 Predictions in the sense that water and stone are opposites - one is malleable, takes on any shape, the other is solid, inflexible. Being bad at controlling sage chakra leads to inflexibility and death. Juugo's ability controls the natural chakra for him...

Re: Naruto 579 Discussion / 580 Predictions I'm usually the first to criticize Kishi for his ass pulls - and this might well be an ass pull. But an ass pull isn't necessarily a plot hole. Let's consider the idea that Juugo's genetic mutation allows him to absorb natural chakra spontaneously...

Re: Naruto 579 Discussion / 580 Predictions Here's what I make of it: Juugo's cells/dna/body is special in that it absorbs natural chakra spontaneously, without him having to sit still. Now, if that ability is associated with snakes (as I suppose it would have to be, because naruto and...

Re: Naruto 579 Discussion / 580 Predictions It's more like three guys in sherman tanks - or three boxers - however you want to frame it. Kabuto's abilities make the uchihas' abilities just as ineffective offensively.
