I don't see how it contradicts itself. Solomon gave everybody free will - thus also the option to reject it and become corrupted. That's because it's a personal decision.

I think that Solomon's will in the rukh is not exactly control, but rather freedom. Notice that when rukh becomes corrupted (loses the will of Solomon and maybe even God), it listens to every order of the magician. This basically means that a person with corrupted rukh can lose control of...
