Not that the basic plot of this chapter is bad, but this is by far the worst narratively structured chapter in a long time. It feels so rushed and it's hard to tell what is happening even when you reread or try to read slowly.

You missed the entire point but okay. Eren has boundaries he will not cross because of his ideals. He even says this outright, without it being a mystery to the reader at all. It makes perfect sense in the story as it is right now. God forbid a metaphor not be 100% equivalent.
