Gear 2nd is steam engine based, Gear 3rd is balloon based. My best guess for Gear 4 was that it's air compression based. Pumping air into his limbs, then recompressing it with Haki. Releasing part of the compression would propel the limb at very high speed/power. Could tap into pneumatics...

I've been thinking a lot about Trebol lately. Many people seem to suspect that he might actually be the one pulling the strings. I don't think that's very likely. He seems so submissive to DD in a way that makes it seem unlikely to me that it could be an act (especially in this chapter)...

I don't know if Law's attack has been all that useless. DD is keeping up the cage and now he has to keep his organs stitched up as well. If nothing else, I think that's at least bound to make it harder for him to concentrate his powers on the actual battle.
