Hey, I haven't really read over all the posts on here, but given the options that the OP listed, I am not sure if anyone has considered this yet, but, maybe Kabuto summoned "himself." Some form of being inbetween life and death, unkillable, perhaps? Just a thought, i've read the manga forever...
