Awesome as this whole story arc and flashback has been so far i really can't help but feel like the story is just not the same without the strawhats. Of course the anticipation will only make their return better, but it's killing me to wait! Oda hasn't been one to wait for specific chapter...

I think it's possible that choppers monster point turns him into an awakened zoan type. The demon guards might have been permanently locked into their awakened forms, or possibly just don't release them because of how powerful it makes them. If you look here...
