When Kishimoto drew Naruto with more realistic features they were more eastern, so I personally hope for the opposite, I mean no one in real life has pink hair like Sakura, the hair and eye colors are just a way to help make the characters stand out and look distinctive.

Not to defend the fans doing that because it is disrespectful but a lot of the panels from what I've seen at Anime Expo don't clear the panel rooms for each panel so the only way to get a guaranteed seat is to get there early and watch panels you would be less interested in.
