Yama have a good reason to not use his full power in FKT. Those pillars was prapobly enough to kill Aizen, but his full power would destroy the barrier and the whole human world.

Zanpaktou power is a mirror image of user power. Yamamotos RJ is so strong because Yamamoto is so strong.Yama-ji is the source of RJ power. I think its not like - You are more poweful because you have better zanpaktou. Btw i think even if ichigo have more power then Yama he dont have experience...

Grimmjow have no chance because Soifon represents different lvl of power. Grimm is just not from her ligue.

I Remember when Yama train kendo with Ken - old man kick his ass with wooden sword (bokken) so much...that was the firs time i saw Ken scared xD almost with tears in his eyes. But when he fight with his best students he use shi kai and they dont die - this is a real deal :)
