Gajeel and Levys appereance was kind of uneeded since they they did nothing at all beside fighting fodder soldiers. Which makes me wonder if they were even included in Mashimas script or added by the movie director to pull gajevy shippers in. We know Juvia was included in Mashimas script at least.

Why do so many people assume that the editor rushed Mashima into this ending? Even if this would have been true, it would still have the same plot points and endresults. Acnologia for example would have been still defeated in a lame way and the ships would still have happened

People here should not blame the magazine or Mashimas editors for his faults. He does not plan out the plot at all and comes up with stuff along the way. He admitted that he did not plan the ending which IMO is unfair and disrespectful towards his fans that supported him for such a long time...
