Exactly. Think of volk being like a beginner at the pro level and nanjirou being at the top of the pro level. Under 17 exists for a reason and nanjirou definitely was in his 20's when he retired. The experience gap is huge.

This issue is ryoma was really young when ryoga broke the promise. Is the original tennis something even reliable? He would have no time to practice with his own tennis style even if he got it back right? I'm wondering what nanjirou taught him.

No. My guess is that nanjirou wore himself out and got put back into the hospital after training ryoma. The doctors told him to stay inside. Yet he didn't listen. The kind of training that ryoma would need cant be done by mental training alone.

That's my prediction too. That he would get a new perfection state that embodies what a full fledged tennis player can do. Not one that is a imitation of nanjirou tennis or something everyone can do, even at pro level.

This backstory is necessary to know who ryoga is. Ryoga might not hesitate to consume ryoma's tennis anymore. Ryoma isn't worried though because his father trained him. I just hope it's not all flashback and we get a lot of the match.

Ryoma will soon reveal what his father trained him with. Ryoma is using muga to buy time to try to win without his tennis stolen. But also for ryoma to gain his own tennis later on. It's like a coming of age for the prince to mature into a fully fledged player like nanjirou wanted
