Just buy a dictionary and read, so you can search the kanji you find on the way. or search by rankings of frecuency. I always recommend Kodansha Kanji Learners Dictionary. There you have 2200 kanjis to learn, and that book is just awesome and extremely fast to search, the only thing that beats...

勝てる勝てない以前に its like "before even thinking of the possibility of winning or loosing", as: there's no use of thinking of winning/loosing, there is something that comes first that makes it impossible to actually face it.

Yes, I also think that the character had problems writing 羅 (and gived up writting ら) and 校. About the "巾", it's an written abbreviation of 門 in three strokes. It can be conbined with any 門 character, for example 問 is the same with the square, looking like 向. You can read more about those here...

Re: いっぺんシメとくか On my dictionaries, entry for 糞: so it would be like "its no use worrying for XX", "XX is out of the question/unthinkable/impossible". don't know the context, but could be like "it has nothing to do with gruding money/not wanting to pay"

Re: いっぺんシメとくか As for the first, from context, I think the シメる intended was this: http://zokugo-dict.com/12si/simeru.htm I'm not sure but「いっぺんシメとくか」(~とく is ~ておく) could be like "do you want me to kill you?"-ish threat or warning. Regard the latter, I found this on Y!Dict:

I have trouble reading a couple of kanji, mainly because the quality of the scan. It's the box on the top: I had transcribed: 高校空手道部血風録‼ 恋するXＸ小X・半座龍之介の青春空手道 The three X are the kanji I don't know. My best guess is 宣Ｘ小僧, still clueless on one. What those kanji are and what is its...
