I have a question.

You didn't question whether you were mafia or townie before did you? Shouldn't that have raised a red flag immediately? But it didn't did it. Only when you didn't know your specific role did you question if something was off. Can you explain that for me.

Because if you can't I'm going to have to assume you glanced quickly at the PM. Saw if you were a Mafia or a towniee. Maybe grabbed your avatar. Then deleted it in a fit of rage at Farfalla's, almost certainly intentional, character choice.

If his story is really true then he is town, since mafia PMs are much bigger, with mentioning your mates and their roles and avis, maybe some more fluff text and pics. Only townie PMs could be glanced over in that fashion.
It's a stupid plan for a mafia, but he's a beginner. Trollish or not, he won't magically know how to act and play the game without prior experience.

So what I'm saying is, we probably shouldn't lynch syx.

I think you lack self confidence But I can kinda get what you mean. When I was detective several times I always felt responsible to do a lot before I die and get some mafias/townies confirmed for town, while this game I can be more laid back and let others do the heavy lifting.
Well then, hopefully for you you were given a lesser significant role. But knowing how Farf fangirls you she may have put you in a mafia team(because it lets you rely on your other teammates and them helping you)... Can you tell me if you're night active? Meaning, one of the many roles which can PM the host at night to do something with another player. I'd rather know this now before you potentially get a night on a pad.

Eh, my role isn't exciting to be honest.. I haven't used it much in my own games. I don't think it will help us much this game.

Oh, I know I do. And as Farfs confirmed it was totally randomized because she said Hardy wouldn't let her re-roll my role when I sent a reaction gif to her.

As for my role, from the previous mafia games I've peeked at giving out hints on day 1 seems a bit early. The only claims I've seen so far ar the typical "I'm not mafia/I'm townie". And like Orgz said you (and Vandred imo) give me such a town/helpful vibe, I'm not sure what to think.

Mafia can only talk privately at night phase. During the day they are just like us townies, cut off from each other. Which is why it's sometimes a good idea to pressure beginners because they can easily make mistakes before their mafia friends tell them a lot at night.
I would mark you as a townie for now or else you would know that already. Unless you're using not knowing that basic thing intentionally to make yourself seem innocent...

You can ask questions about things that confuse you and we can explain. Won't remove the experience gap but could still help you out in the long run.
You can give some hints about your role as well if you want.

Hey Guys and Gals, sorry for being a bit late, I moved to Lisbon and still need to get used to the nightlife here ( which pretty much starts at 2am).

First of all Thanks to @Farfalla @Hardy for the nice layout and all the work put into the design of the game. Hearing the music while reading the story was too damn nostalgic.

That sounds very risky but useful. Probably not a great idea to shoot it right away on Day One, though. *Magi flashbacks*

Yes definitely getting Magi flashbacks from this idea. That one choice really fucked us up last game.

Probably not too smart to do on Day One, when we don't know anything and the lynch is more dangerous than ever. I say either we wait and at the very least we don't use it today, or we start dividing our charges among a few multiple people to have a chance to shoot multiple times later even if one of them gets killed

I agree with sharing the votes and definitely keep them for later. Genkidama is a finishing move after all. There are some players who I tend to trust more even though on day one you can't trust anyone but they have just again again proved themselves to be really helpful townie players. Still gonna try to be objective and observant of those guys.

Remember, he is very likely in the lawlett tier of players. Perhaps it doesn't tell you much since you haven't played the last games, but it's hard to read them and they can do both a town play and a mafia play regardless of if they're town or mafia.

But yeah the deleting the pm thing is stupid, and regardless if it's true or not puts the hosts in kind of a bad spot with deciding whether to send him another pm, and regardless if it's a lie or not using the hosts sending a pm or not to confirm his words is not really ethical..

I agree with an earlier post that Mafia messages tend to be longer and are more likely to spark interest which would prevent premature deletion. Adding newbie bonus would incriminate him even less. Still something that will most likely come up later as well.
