Has Elusam last volume released yet? If not, how many chapters it gather for last vol currently?
I'm just looking on Wikipedia's list of chapters and volumes right now so it might be slightly inaccurate.

The next volume releases in August. If it keeps the same 9 chapters in a volume as the rest of the series, there's still 6 chapters that need to be published in a volume (so there would be one more volume after the one that comes out in August). This upcoming one shot would be 7, F-Ken would be 8 and I can see the last volume just being slightly shorter, so no need for a 9 (but there could also be a volume exclusive epilogue or something too).

I knew you'd bring this back up lol, its such an odd thing to harp on. A series can be horror inspired but not be scary. It has a main cast of monsters. If it was frankenstein, dracula, a mummy, and a wolfman, would you be harping about the same thing? What about when they showed up in dragon ball?
See, there are two comedy series and one sports series that started in a magazine that already had four comedy series and no sports ones. Yet, they chose the two comedies.
At least if the series had some horror elements, it would have something to set it apart.

So like can we finally say that Kinato is dead or are we still gonna use the it has decent sales cope.
With series ending around it, Kagurabachi in hiatus and its sales not being an absolute disaster, Kinato may hold the absolute bottom spot (without being designated as the bottom of the TOC like Yokai Buster Murakami) for a record breaking time.

They chose because they did great with the readers. It is not a matter of editorial bias this time.

There’s a manga that was billed as a horror-comedy in the previews but has absolutely no horror elements—it’s just comedy and nothing new—yet it’s a hit, while one of the few sports manga Jump has is failing. And then people complain that Jump doesn't invest in sports titles.
The problem with drawn to the fire is that the designs are boooooring

One series that just endlessly repeats poop jokes, and a basketball series that at least makes an effort to deliver a decent story. I have serious doubts about this—and don't go accusing me of being a comedy hater, because my only complaint is the sheer volume of comedies in the magazine, nothing else.

And is constantly repeating poop jokes like 2B does any more fun?

Roku just kept putting up big text the whole time and claims he was developing characters.

I don't think there is any problem regarding the themes of a story if they are made with quality and well written. Regardless of what you think about 2B being only about poop jokes (which it isn't), it is very well drawn and written in comparison to Drawn to the Fire, with a mismatched story that tries too hard into being a sports story. And finally, each comedy manga has its types, and there is a lot of differences between them on the magazine right now.

Here's a comparison too. To be a good sports series, you have to tell a compelling narrative or draw the sports well. To be a comedy series, you have to be funny. We've clearly gotten some dud comedies in the past few years (Nice Prison, Murakami, etc). But like, Roku is funny. Thats literally all there is to it. People find it endearing or funny, and they enjoy it. Meanwhile, people find something lacking in the way DTTF tells a sports story, and they don't like it.

But Roku is supposed to also be a horror series and it's not scary and therefore it is bad and I don't like it and it should be axed

Wow, so it’s going to be the same thing with Hal formula then? People will say the manga isn't good because it doesn't tell an engaging story or portray the sport well, but the animal signal is good just because it's funny—so if they keep repeating the 2B joke, it doesn't matter because it's funny, and that's all that counts.

Well, if a comedy series delivers funny chapters and people find those funny, then it may have reached its purpose as a comedy manga. At least I think so. The problem with your argument is that you somehow think a series with a "serious" story with "engaging and dramatic" approach is inherently better than a comedy series, which is not really true.

And to be honest, I think Animal Signal is better than Hal Formula. The first two chapters of Hal Formula kinda lacked some direction and clear focus on what the MC should do. Meanwhile Animal Signal delivered all the funny bits and the relantionship between characters really strongly.

I hate to say it, but I really just cannot vibe with animal signal. Its structured like a gag manga, but instead of jokes, the "punchline" is always an animal fact. And I get it might be interesting for some, but like 3 chapters in and it already feels stale. I'm imagining reading a full volume of it and just dreading it immensely. Doesn't jump have study jump too? Why couldn't they have just thrown it in there :(.

If things were the way you say, Kiyoshi, for example, it wouldn't have abandoned the comedy genre to turn into a battle shonen just to survive.
In fact, many series in Jump started out as one thing and ended up as another.

I really don't understand where are you going with this "Kiyoshi turned into a battle shonen" argument. Countless series have stayed the same throughout its course and never changed its status. Like Roboco and Witch Watch.
