Regarding rule #9, an exception will be made for when we have new series, in this case, spoilers will be allowed only for the first 3 chapters of a new series for the users who are interested in knowing informations and details about the new series, these spoilers will obviously be kept under tags to protect anyone that doesn't want to be spoiled, so don't worry about it.

[Discomusic]

1. Akane-banashi: The author was brilliant for giving both contestants a way to make their performance unique, with the same base material. Kaisei embracing his inner self and then ending his life anyway was chilling and leaves you in thought about what was the meaning of that final gesture. Now I wonder how Issho of all people can top his pupils.
2. Roku's House of oddities: A good week for comedy, but this is probably the best performing series of the week. Now coral chapters start to work too, developing the curses in singles before did wonders. The Dog in bipedal mode got me hard, and so did in general all the part with the dress reveals. It is only strange that this series was placed next to Animal Signal, they are similar in vibe.
3. Me and Roboco: It is really true that the chapters where Roboco acts as the Shinpachi are the best. The Miracle generation is also one of the best running gags the series has to offer, and a stern reminder that in Roboco, everything is canon.
4. Cannon signal: I don't know what will be the reception of the series, but for me it works. The pacing is also high, and that is a good thing to keep the interest up. The relationship between master and pupil grows at each chapter, and that keeps the attention high because you don't want to miss anything.
5. Witch Watch: I think this chapter lacked something that could have made it more epic. Like, letting the battle unfold for two chapters instead of one, having Kanshi display even more willpower, Ban inflicting a hit of her own, the enemy having more focus on her backstory and pushing them even further into a corner. Still, it was the great moment the Tengu ever needed, and I am just happy he got his chance at winning something.
6. Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi: I liked the Taurus Saint moment of Utsugi at the beginning (complete with Aries Saint Tenma) and the proclamation with the list of all the Cross Paladins with their titles. This is, once again, classic Shonen tropes done well. This can be said also for the final part with the pool and the grandmother reveal.
7. Animal Signal: This chapter has been nice. The author is playing around the formula which is a good way to move 4-5 chapters into the series. This is no time to experiment, but rather to apply the main idea to present the new characters in an original way. And by "new characters" I mean the logic angel, that I hope will come back.
8. Blue Box: The (apparent) penultimate chapter is somehow about Yusa and Hina. I get her since she is coprotagonist from the beginning, but him? He just got a characterization! What about Kyo and Ayame? Also, his brother doesn't deserve this (she does though).
9. Sakamoto Days: Wow, a battle chapter and a chapter full of events at the same time, it doesn't happen often. It was good with its twists, gasps and reunions. If all chapters were like this, I'd be less harsh with my reviews.
10. Class 2-B: Hero Destroyerz: It's impressive that we didn't get the title drop and the goal of the series until 11 chapters in. It couldn't have happened if the series was poorly received immediately, and in that case Sorachi should have rushed into the thing but instead he took his time, sign that he can do whatever he wants. The chapter was full of exposition but also nice, and the comedy starts to finally click (it helps that the toilet jokes have decreased significantly).
11. One Piece: Nothing particularly impressive in this chapter, the most important news is that the spotlight moved from the most important battle to a less important one. Which is ok since it is typical of One Piece and battle mangas in general, but I can't go over the fact that this enemy (and the one Zolo is facing) had already been defeated.
12. HunterXHunter: A chapter that is not that text-heavy is always better than a chapter that is that text-heavy. It hasn't been that difficult to follow and it was nice to have a minor pronunciation remark being so relevant (and immediately, instead of leaving it as a Chekhov gun for 20 chapters later). The final part was classic HxH, but I can't ask for too much.
13. Nue's Exorcist: Not much to say here, just the cannon fodders throwing at the enemy all they have before getting annihilated the next chapter. I actually thought they would get annihilated already in this one.
14. Hal Formula: Perfect time to introduce a new rival. Unfortunately, the man lacks charisma, especially with his characterization of being always second best. The protagonist is already stronger than him despite his lack of training, will he become a sympathetic rival or an hateful one?
15. Shinobi Undercover: This mess of an arc is partly saved by the introduction of a new mentor figure that, for the joy of every reader, is charismatic. He can help Yodaka grow but even better, he can help Hibari grow, since she isn't doing wonders in her own arc.
16. Ichi the Witch: Didn't like much this chapter based on a series of ping-pong matches. As psychological as they may be, sports matches is not the series forte, and in fact the most interesting part has been the end. No blame for trying though.
17. Drawn to the Fire: Not that bad, but very by the books so it lacked emotion. And there were too many fireflies around: but at least, this series also had finally their title drop (or something close).
18. Under Doctor: A new character just dropped, but maybe we should focus less on bringing up new comedy reliefs and more on building up a story with all the characters we have. Lack of direction was the main critic aimed at Hard-boiled Cop and Dolphin back in 2020, and it got axed. I can't stand this series having the same problem and surviving!
19. The Elusive Samurai: I was excited for this at the beginning but it turned out to be just an overly long parade of reskins of many characters, hoping for a nostaglia factor that never came to fruition because it is too early for that. In fact, the only emotional part has been the end, with the return of an historical character in historical fashion. An adventure of the real Tokiyuki and co. maybe during a timeskip between original arcs could have worked better. But welcome back anyway Elusive Samurai!
20. Someone Hertz: Basically, Mimei just convinced the rival to return to the activity he just quitted, because he decided that it was just a matter of determination. I prefer protagonists that just mind their business.
21. Kinato's magic: I was expecting more by the main enemy of the arc, but her villain reasoning is ultimately banal and she got defeated like every other opponent in this series, complete with fanservice panel. If the series has one last chance to try avoiding axe, please end this arc and go for it as soon as it can.

Kaisei did not end his life. The candle that got blown out in the end is figuratively Issho's. Kaisei is declaring himself independent from Issho ("not needing the light from the candle anymore to guide himself"). He can now walk on his own without that "candlelight" (Issho)

Issue 32 rankings:

Tier 1 (Great):

1 - One Piece (Luffy vs Imu, let's gooo. Zoro is constantly leaking Conqueror's and needs to learn how to control it, while Sanji is actively suppressing it and needs to learn how to let it flow more - I like it!)
2 - Akanebanashi (I think Akane's performance was better as a performance but Kaisei's was more emotional. Loved them both. I'm sure Issho is about to upstage the two of them though lol)
3 - Witch Watch (Kanshi lowkey might be the best written character in the series lol. And any Kanshi win is major!)
4 - Roku (very cute, all of their outfits slayed. The dog having a bipedal mode and wearing human clothes was hilarious)
5 - Ichi the Witch (Set up chapter really, but it was fun, I liked the comedy...interesting self realisation by Ichi at the end, maybe?)

Tier 2 (Good):

- HAL Formula
- Blue Box (looks like next week is the end!)
- Cannon Master (This series continues to be good. The double page spread of the town after they saved it was brilliant, those kinds of double page spreads in fantasy adventure manga is always something I look for. It's something Kinato's Magic lacks imo)
- Hunter x Hunter (Mostly set up, but the stuff about the names and different pronunciations is super interesting)
- Kiyoshi (Ahhh time to meet the mentor figure, time to see what relic, if any, Kiyoshi gets)
- Shinobi Undercover (Ahhh time to meet the mentor figure...hey wait a minute!)
- Someone Hertz
- The Elusive Samurai (pretty good, I quite liked the series so I'm always down for more of it. I probably would have preffered it if the bonus chapter was set in the hell afterlife they ended up in at the end of the series rather than the modern day stuff but still....I did think they would meet the AssClass characters, but I guess not!)
- Class 2-B (I forgot to put this series on the list, soooo this is an edit several hours later lmaooo)

Tier 3 (Ok):

- Me and Roboco
- Animal Signal
- Under Doctor (wonder if she'll be a recurring character?)
- Kinato's Magic
- Drawn to the Fire
