I wonder what upgrades Yukimura has developed in three years, an evolution of future yips plus insane defense? I expect him to be a monster at this point.

The biggest upgrade overall for everyone would be the base stats. It probably just come with puberty and training. We can see this in the databook stats on how every MS have consistently lower base stats than HS.

For example, we know that Fuji's best offensive move work even on Ryoga who is amongst the top 4 best player in the entire series (If you discount Nanjirou and maybe the top #1 pro). That is INSANE. Fuji simply need to increase his base stats. This is also the same for Shiraishi. For now, his star bible is base on him having low base. What if he can increase those base higher? Having an all 10 stat star bible wouldn't be a dream even.

Yukimura and Sanada is also the same. Also Yukimura can also cover more move and now can defend against move like Mach that he call unreturnable before during Ochi first match in the series.

For this I mean maybe Yukimura can. It's still not sure he can return it even after 3 years of course but I think it is possible.,

Yes. And I think some posters here are forgetting. Japan players are not the only one having upgrades.

Tezuka will have huge upgrades after 3 years. Assumingly, he will already go pro after the WC we followed. Siegmund pro contract offer is still on the table. Bertie will still be in pro tour for the next 3 years. Siegfried and Frankenstein will probably not go pro. But still improve.

Ludovic and Osval upgrades will be scary as well. Maybe Henri too from Switzerland.

And wait. Romeo too. Imagine how strong Romeo will be in 3 years.

The first match was pretty good. Atobe really showed his potential and how far he can go, but the last panel made it clear—he's good, just not as good as Romeo. Still, if they ever meet again in the future, I wouldn't say the same. Atobe wins the match, but Romeo was the better player overall.

Lol Romeo even with power up needed Atobe to breakdown to even rally with him and still lost. If they have a rematch at full health Atobe wins thar match comfortably

This group results is very weird. I know probably different set of players. But the variance is big.

Greece got 0-3 by Japan and Switzerland. But they dominated Australia.

Australia then upset the #2 Switzerland. But lost against Japan and Greece badly.

Japan is believable. Beat Australia and Greece (both 3-0). But got 0-3 by Switzerland.

LMAO.

PS: To be fair. I think Japan, Switzerland, Australia, and Greece all prefer to rotate all their players whether it is required or not.

For ex. Greece did not use Hades against Japan. Switzerland didn't use Tatsuta against Japan too. And ofc Japan didn't use some of their best players too. Australia literally decides lineup based on Noah's chess moves.

Well... The day has arrived. I knew it would come, but a part of me couldn't accept it. This series has been with me my whole life. If there's one thing I can truly say I've always been a fan of, it's Prince of Tennis.

I have mixed feelings. The ending didn't make me feel anything, perhaps because of the way it unfolded. Except for Atobe's match, it was an anticlimactic final round. The whole World Championship felt "weird"... Unlike the Kanto or National tournaments. Maybe it was because of the constant rule changes. I've been rereading the manga a few times, and it's more than obvious how the story changed direction when they discarded the idea of Ryoma playing for the USA. Everything to bring him back to Japan felt very rushed. I think that's the biggest criticism I can make of Konomi. It's very clear that he regretted his own initial plan.
Even so, I'll always be grateful for having been able to enjoy this story, its characters, and the art (my drawing style is a clear attempt to imitate Konomi, haha). And thank you all for keeping this space alive where we can share our passion for this.

PS: All I ask is for a tennis game. A TENNIS GAME. No dating sims, rhythm games... TENNIS. Release it for Switch, I'll buy a Switch. Release it for PS, I'll buy a PS. I just want to be able to play a tennis game with my favorite characters. (Eagerly awaiting the 2027 announcements for the series' 25th anniversary...)

Konomi doesn't have the guts to stick with his initial decision. He let fans emotion and criticisms affect his decision so much.

Even in POT,

1. He initially wanted Fuji to betrayed Seigaku. And transfer to Rikkaidai.

2. In Nationals, Nagoya was originally planned to beat Rikkaidai. And Nagoya would have been the finals opponent VS Seigaku.

Both ideas got scrapped cause of fans reaction.

A NPOT tennis game would go so hard, I want them to try something like those ps2 games.

Nanjroh is implied to be dead. Iirc.

Tezuka and Byodoin has no chance against any of the Echizen Brothers.

Byodouin vs Ryoma was foreshadowed ten years ago and we never got to see the match, but by beating Ryoga and having his final powerup might be Konomi’s way of showing that Ryoma has surpassed Byodouin without directly facing him. Nonetheless, Ryoma vs Byodouin or any of the g5 would have been great, but Ryoga is already beyond g5 level so this is the closest thing we’ll get.

I wonder. Besides Ryoma. Who among Current Msers will reach or surpass Byo/Toku level?

Maybe Kintarou. I am not sure, but I think Atobe, Yuki, and Fuji has some chances.

Tezuka plays for Germany. And as Future Captain of #1 seed. It is a given he will be.
