There is really another break after this…
I am expecting a big announcement soon otherwise these many back zto back breaks are frightening..

If it's to rest and take a break, that's normal, and if anyone deserves it, it's him.
Health comes first.

But if it's because of his crappy Netflix series...

I'm fine with him considering One Piece his life's work. it is.
I don't know how involved he is in the Netflix thing (probably very much), but there's a difference between being fully committed to a project and being a control freak.
I hope it's not the second option.

And generally speaking, I'd rather he dedicate himself 100% to finishing the manga than spread himself too thin and risk botching everything (manga has dropped below mid tier as far as I'm concerned and I find the Netflix series to be really unsettling and cringe. Not funny at all.).

But hey, if his editors have no decision-making power, I'm not going to convince him.

I mean, it's nice that he's involved in LA One Piece but you're right about one thing: Oda should prioritize manga. It's really hard to keep up with many things all at once and often one or two of those things suffer because of it. And so it happen that Oda need to take more breaks and manga slowed down ever since LA One Piece was created. This could work like 10 years ago when Oda was younger and had more energy but now I can bet he's running on fumes while trying to make sure everything is in order.

How you can be so insulting without knowing the number of encyclopedia and search Oda is doing into creating a single page ?
Nothing is just a scratch or just putting something on papers because he had an amazing idea.
Go learn how mangakas are working before talking like that.
And yes, go fix you things, if they are on break they are on break. Learn to live with it.

Seems like Luffy is stronger than he was before, Loki’s hybrid form doesn’t show up, Imu shows a new transformation and there will be another break next week.

Even at Marineford, when he was clearly outplayed and had to run from one place to another, it didn’t feel cowardly. It felt more like instinct (innate intelligence).


I understand that this is meant to emphasize how powerful Imu is…


Although Imu doesn’t quite feel as overwhelmingly superior as Kizaru did at the time.


I think this is because he isn’t fighting seriously, for whatever reason…


But after the amount of time he’s spent in Elbaph, it almost feels more like he wanted to “play for a while” rather than actually finish off his enemies. (Maybe nostalgia?)


And I suppose saving the GK also played a part in his priorities.


In short: I hope Luffy goes back to being “THE MAN who will become the Pirate King.”




Edit: And about the break, I think we’re at a critical point in the manga, and he’s taking his time to make sure he gets it right, because we’re reaching a point where a lot of mysteries are going to start being resolved.

I take the breaks instead of a 2-3 months timeskip/break

I'm no one to choose, but if it's me, i prefer taking break after 2 weeks... One Piece could turn into a 15 days scheduled release manga

So, another break? Man, Oda is either really busy with something or really overworked and just can't recover properly. Ehh, I hope after this break chapter release will be more steady because soon anime will be on break but with just two chapters per month story will proceed too slowly and anime will catch up at some point. Of course I care about Odas health and wish him the best but this many breaks are really worrying.

I just was on Reddit and now I'm confused. It says out there that there will be break after NEXT chapter not upcoming one? So, are we on break after THIS one or NEXT one?

Battle Wolf replied, but I'll give another wy of saying it. These are Pew's words: There will be a break next week again after onepiece chapter 1191.

At this point, I would be concerned. Something is going on.
Is it work related? We have an idea of how Oda is when the LA is doing stuff, and we know what the extent of his input is thanks to his interviews. The last time he was doing something, I recall he went to South Africa for a little.
Otherwise, we know the next One Piece movie was having development problems.
Beyond that, Oda has been a psuedo franchise manager. Handling correspondence with merchendise/anime/games/editors is something he's done for over a decade. I don't think that some readers are aware of how much time in Oda's week is consumed by talking to people involved with the creation of One Piece in general. Heck I dont think some people know how many hours he spends talking to his editor and the voice actors. Put aside the rates in 2026; I think some are unaware of what Oda's reported in interviews.

So with all that said, this sort of break schedule, keeping in mind the break rotation that was applied to MHA and JujuKai along in their final years, I am biased into believing something is going on with Oda, healthwise or personal. I think that if this continues, we should be sincerely concerned and perhaps prepared for a drastic change.
In a fortunate world, he's just struggling with summer heat and everything returns to normal in the fall.

EDIT: After reading Oda's author comments for the past chapters, I think the shonen jump staff are enforcing him getting time out of the studio. It seems he's been doing a lot of wholesome, leisurely stuff in the past months.

i guess in G5 he can take the food energy he stored on his body and use it for healing i guess

Oh, it's like that. Man, his powers get wilder and wilder but honestly I shouldn't be surprised by ANYTHING at this point. I wonder how he joined in on attack typical for giants. Don't it need some weapon? Or Luffy just manifested weapon.

oh man…hajrudin is not even close to this leagues. He got 1 shot by Luffy gear 2 not much ago.

"Silver Bullet" meaning that it will be a chapter focused on the victory of the wings of pirate against Sommers and Killingham- or a secret that Bilbo tell to chopper about how to defeat Imu right now - being his "silver bullet" - OR
Imu "silver bullet" we know pretty well that he can shoot things out of nowhere - so in his gear 2/3 he could summon a weapon to deal with multiple enemies at once ( bc if this is a cp focused on Imu it will be - Imu vs Loki & Luffy & Gaban & Harudjin ! )
