Even though I am biased because we got Someone Hertz out of it, 2024 was a bad year for Jump, this is true. But as tirakai said above, this was coming after 2024 which was objectively a great year for the magazine, and 2023 was pretty good too. (Plus personally I like Nue and Kagurabachi way more than any of the 2024 serializations, but thats irrelevant to the matter at hand.) Its also way too early to judge 2026. Roku is definitely sticking around, and Under Doctor and 2B have the potential to make it to their 1st anniversaries at least, despite poor rankings, and thats just from the first two batches of the year. Animal Signal looks like it has potential, and its a bit soon to say Hal Formula is definitely dead. Its sad because I like it, but Cannon Master is the only one from the third batch this year that seems to be down for the count. Way too soon to judge this most recent batch, but Ura had a positive response, and while the response to Graykeith may have been underwhelming in comparison to its batchmate, it definitely wasn't negative either. And then we still have another upcoming batch of likely 3-4 series that we can't judge at all yet. I think we will likely see 2 or 3 2026 serializations survive in the long run, and probably more than that make it to a year. Or maybe I'm wrong and in a year's time Roku will be the only one left standing.

On a side note, my cope for Nue is that they want to give it the cover for the anime announcement so they're waiting until after the group cover and all the September anniversaries, but didn't want to wait anymore on the popularity poll results. I will save my cursing for Saito for when it doesn't get the cover for the anime announcement, or we don't get an anime announcement at all this year.

Regarding 2026 as well, I think they will have a bigger than normal survival rate (potentially) because quite a few bigger/long running series ended in 2026. Blue Box, Hima-Ten, The Elusive Samurai and we can presume Witch Watch and Sakamoto Days are also ending this year. 5 series is a lot.

Compare it to 2025, I think we only lost three long running series that year, Kill Blue, Undead Unluck and Yozakura Family, and the latter two were right at the start of 2025 to the point you may as well say they ended in 2024 lol (you could MAYBE include Chojo but it didn't even reach 100 chapters, not even close, so I wouldn't even really count it tbh).

Anyway, point is that there's more space in the mag now for newer 2026 (and maybe 2027) series to possibly survive.

If I had to be predictional… I do think since we just had a batch of 2 we’ll have a batch of 3 next, it’ll come in around 8-9 chapters, and it’ll use the slots for Sakamoto, Witch Watch, and Cannon Master. It feels like they want to give some lifeline to 2B since the fanbase is willing to buy, and they haven’t quite forsaken Under Doctor. Hal is probably surviving thanks to Sakamoto and Witch Watch, but I can’t say how safe it will be next time… at the very least this gives me hope for it being Terasaka’s longest series, with next axe wave putting it around 20-21 and thus giving it minimum chance for a 4 volume run. (of course I’d like to see it survive more but I have a realistic view of things.)

There's the Drawn to the Fire/GFC slot as well, so that would make it 4. My guess is they'll go for 3 brand new series:

Sakamoto ends and Bleach starts. Hell Arc may be a Modulo type of arc, so that slot will eventually become a new series in 2027.
GFC ends and a new manga starts.
Cannon Master is axed and a new manga starts.

I think they'll let Witch Watch last another batch for an epilogue, but if not, then we get 4 new series this batch.

Hal Formula is the major candidate to get axed in the batch after that as it's hard to imagine it selling 8K+ to beat Under Doctor sales and the TOC isn't good. I don't think it's wrapping up now, while Cannon Master already got the notice. If Witch Watch ends in that batch and they go for 2 new series, then they don't need to axe anything else. If they go for 3 new series, then Under Doctor may be axed.

Personally I think Under Doctor and 2-B will both reach close to their first anniversaries, but I don't believe much that they can survive more than that unless Graykeith and other new series bomb even harder than usual (like selling 2K or less).

It's Kubo, don't expect a whole arc about Hell to have 26 ~ 30 chapters, i expect a full year at the very least unless it's pretty rushed lol

There's no way Kubo can manage to do a proper Hell arc as a 3 volumes mini-series, not with Bleach pacing. Burn the Witch worked because it was a new setting just introducing everything, it had a small cast and no obligations, but Bleach has far too many characters and too many expectations built up behind it.

Gege didn't really accomplish it in that time for that matter, the last few chapters of Modulo were definitely rushing the content to avoid having to do a 4th volume.

Might as well make predictions. I'm going to say it'll start off in WSJ running for just a batch or two (so 8-20 chapters) completing the intro part of the arc, then it'll switch over to Jump+ for a looser schedule. And it'll last for 108 chapters exactly taking around 3 years including breaks (shorter than Arrancar or Blood War, but about as long as the whole Soul Society arc).

I somehow really doubt that. Do we really think Kubo wants to put himself through the wringer again pumping out a full 52-chapter series (assuming for one continous year)? I see the whole thing as a 30-chapter sequel series imo.

I'm expecting 8 chapters, a light novel by Ryogo Narita to tie up the loose ends and an anime adaptation that expands on the material immensely.

Kubo is almost 50 and he was already struggling with weekly manga more than a decade ago. If it's longer than that, it's either another batch release like HxH or starts at WSJ and moves to J+.

Ura:
This was a really good 1st chapter, the art was really really good and despite him only being the writer Shun Numa’s influence was very present in the art. Seeing it was a very pleasant surprise.

Animal:
This chapter was both ridiculously and stupidly funny.

Roku:
The casually way the lore is introduced and how the individual gags of each curse are done and how the chapter was structured/balanced was really cool.

Ichi:
Really liked the funny moment with Sukemaru. And Desscarass being a Big Sister is always nice/awesome to see.

Kubo is almost 50 and he was already struggling with weekly manga more than a decade ago.

Bleach was serialized for over a decade by the point his health deteriorated and he got a torn tendon. He's older now and hasn't done serialization for a long time but he's probably at a better place than when he was during ttybw. The hell chapter is from 5 years ago so he's been mulling over it for a long time which hopefully means the writing won't be too big of a burden for him. They might have also given him more leeway by preparing more chapters in advance than usual for new series.(with the way sorachi's afterword described his dealings with editorial staff that's being very optimistic though)

There is a rather big gap between bleach and hell compared to naruto/boruto or jjk/modulo. Really big barrier for new readers though I feel like bleach is one of those series that newbies get introduced to early on with the likes of naruto,dragonball etc.

Vegeta can be 1B when he's able to create hologram torture technology to kill an old man just to spite that old man's grandson for beating him in a children's card game we can ignore the fact that the reason in the manga is because the mind crush actually did almost kill Kaiba and he had more reason to be spiteful.

I mean... Vegeta kinda mastered instant transmission and then decided to never use it again just because it's Goku's signature move. The guy knows a thing or two about spite.

Ichi the Witch #97 – LMAO Dess finally realises she hasn’t actually taught anything to Ichi, or at least not on purpose anyway. I have to say, Minakata’s introduction to Dess leading to Dess character development wasn’t on my bingo card, but I like it. Lol Ichi doesn’t want to learn stuff like taunts ffs Dess. And Dess definitely is the type to buy a plant and let it die lol. Wait, Ichi actually did successfully taunt Hakari, but by complete accident lol. Interesting that Hakari can “hear” the voices of captured Majiks, even ones that Dess keeps locked down faarrrr deep.

He probably can't. That's why Ichi was grilling him. The guy is acting like such a know-it-all, but most of his grievances are made-up.

Under Doctor #31 – So he has hand tremors huh, and for such a specific time lol. Dr. De Beau seems to have his heart in the right place to help people, but it does seem a bit selfish imo to do surgery when you can fuck up at any time, even if you supposedly know when the tremors are coming. Who’s to say they won’t get worse, for example, mid surgery? Lol. SEE?! I knew it!!! How lucky is he that Haiji is here and Ashcroft. Irresponsible! But also kinda responsible because you did actually take the help offered hah. He should just go to some ancient monks and like get them to fix his hands with magic that he learns so that he can…become a strange doctor…or something hah.

To be fair, Ashcroft was there because De Beau asked him to be. He made sure to arrange for a back-up even before Haiji showed up.

Animal Signal #13 – Wanting to get spit on by an Alpaca is…a choice. Looks like Shion has found his master. What an insane second to last page lol, this series is definitely the author’s barely disguised fetish btw. Tsubasa is attracting one weird harem lol.

Apparently they usually spit at other alpaca and rarely do it towards humans as I was told today, before getting spit on because I was standing in between two of them

Witch Watch #261 – Like I thought it wasn’t as easy as that…..well, actually, they still did it and Nico provided the winning touch! And shout out Rabuka for the last second save as well! I would be lying if I said that it didn’t feel a bit anticlimactic, I thought Shikimi would have one more trick up his sleeve, well he kinda did but Nico prevented it. I do like the idea of Shikimi helping to restore the reputation of Witches though. I wonder if there will be one more arc, a more SoL type arc, to end the series or if it’s ending REAL soon, like next batch soon? Anyway, the Bone Crisis arc in general was really good, enjoyed it a lot tbh but this finale seems rather lukewarm. I also suspect that the series still has a bit of a ways to go, I think we'll have some more shenanigans and a SoL mini arc to end things.

I was expecting a bit of an epilogue too, but this chapter gave me the impression things would wrap up fast.

well... most of shonen jump are all about demons, exorcist, magic.... there is nothing original anymore, and if there is, it's always axed... especially spokon

- Series 1 fills in the slot left behind by GFC ending
- Series 2 replaces either Sakamoto Days ending or Class 2-B getting axed/transferred to a different magazine
- Series 3 replaces either Class 2-B axe/transfer or Cannon Master axe
- Bleach takes an extra slot in the magazine for the time being.

Kubo will be fine. The series also will be for sure more than a year and definitely longer than Modulo imo. I think it’ll be around 10 volumes

Nue’s anime is for sure coming. People are upset about the time but that’s because they no that they have a hit. Nue sets itself up so well to be a hit anime with the artwork. I’d like to believe Jump learned its lesson with SD; should have been such a hit series worldwide.
