Right you are. This is making me realize how, despite Akane generally being designated Red as a signature color (in paradigms such as her/hikaru/karashi being the typical red/blue/yellow), both her and Kaisei are rather Pink.

One Piece leakers gave us hints yesterday which is a day ahead of schedule. Chances we get ToC tomorrow then?

lol nope, it actually might have a delay due to Silver Week screwing with distribution, but this is just a maybe, hopefully the magazine will be in the store like usual

Issue 42-43 2026:

1. Nue's Exorcist: Crazy speed feats from Kazusa here, blitzing every single dragonling (as I like to call them) without a bit of effort. The Kin enjoying sacrificing itself for the sake of what it thinks is Kurikara is interesting, perhaps he is a true king whereas Kasha just aspires to be one, to be HIM. It's just an assumption, but so far all of Kurikara's character has been built and shown through his power and fame alone.
And even with the speed blitzing, Kazusa's forced to defend much like she did against Wanyudo. The sheer intensity of seeing her go from each and every person one by one and defending all of them as she blocks all the drops is just so good. Again, insane speed feats at work and more showing of her growth. And speaking of growth, we gotta talk about her growth as a person... And how this chapter was brutally misread by a bunch of people already.
The "I wanna be a bride too." Thing is NOT saying that Kazusa's whole thing all along is that she wanted to marry. It's representing a few things about her:

-1. Her normalcy. Compare Kazusa to Shiroha, Shitotsu, Gekka, Natsuki, hell Gakuro too. Every main fighter in Squad has lived ANYTHING but a normal life, nor were they BORN normal. Shiroha was brutally trained to serve the family, with a constitution that lets her absorb spirits, and a contract with a terrifying Pseudo-Hyo. Shitotsu has the literal BLOOD of a Hyo, as does Natsuki, and has been fighting for revenge almost her whole life. Natsuki herself is the cornerstone of the whole Exorcist world, the one who allows the Restoration Squad to even work. Gekka is Nue's first contractor from over a thousand years ago and has defeated MULTIPLE Hyo. Gakuro hails from a family devoted to Nue, trained to be a warrior of carnage, is her contractor and is just plain insane in his determination.
Kazusa is... A normal girl who became an exorcist cause she thought she'd be good at it. Her Fiance died, she closed up for years before going back at it, and that's it. Yet here she is, fighting a being so fast and so powerful that it can slaughter basically a whole city on its own. And nailing it. It shows how far she has pushed herself, to the point where she can hang out with and even outshine these born warriors.

-2. Her old and new mentality. She wanted to be a bride because her mom looked pretty as one. She wanted to be an exorcist because she thought she'd be good at it. She accepted that Exorcists put their life on the line, but did not like that. She was, in simple words, half-assing both of these paths. It's as Gakuro told himself when observing Rido fight: "They make the most effective move with no hesitation, putting their lives on the line. They are true warriors." That's why meeting Gakuro has completely changed her. What I mentioned in my previous point, would she have done it before Gakuro came into her life? Hell no, and that's what made their meeting so special. Unlike with Haruhi, she can now confidently protect those she loves, she's not letting them go anymore.

-3. Her desire to be relied upon, aka being the "Senpai". This is what she means by being the "coolest bride of all". She's now basically a superheroine, flying in and saving the city, not a single person dying, herself included. She can now pull off something she absolutely could not even just the arc beforehand. And as she said at the end, she'll catch up soon.

These past few chapters have had Kazusa being the star of the show and I love it, putting some damn respect for the series' first girl (besides Nue of course)! And look closely at that last panel- That's Shitotsu, Natsuki and Ishu rising up the tree as well and catching Kazusa. That lat battle with Kasha will be INSANE! 12/10!!

2. Roku's House Of Oddities: See what I wrote for last issue, as I made that review with this chapter in mind by mistake (lol).

3. Someone Hertz: Finally time to meet The Long Hopes face to face! Noticing how Osera seems to mirror Mimei while Koyama is the same with Kurage, with him joking and Osera responding dryly.

4. GrayKeith: Translator Demonica: A good follow up to the first chapter, it gives us a further look into what is normalized into this society, as well as the danger of GrayKeith's work. I only hope that it won't stay as episodic as this for top long.

7. Class 2B Hero Destroyerz: Very predictable and clichè twist, but Sorachi's paneling and artwork made it work better than it would have otherwise. Beyond that, Valaris blushing lile that is cute.

8. Animal Signal: To be honest, Tsubasa's character work here is just kinda whatever. When you have protagonists with a simple core like this, you gotta give them at least a certain level of intensity to them. Without his love for animals, all that's left is his admiration for Kokone and his shyness, and neither of these things really shine through all too much here. First chapter to have me just kinda bored.

9. Cannon Master: I will at least commend the art and paneling here, I think both are strong and have a future if Machida can improve on the writing department.

Strip away his desire for vengeance and what’s left of Chihiro is someone who is deeply emotional and highly empathetic toward others. His compassion isn’t limited to people he knows or agrees with.

Straight out of ch 1, he was willing to talk out with the yakuzas and strike out a deal before changing his mind when he saw them publicly lynching people in the city.

He gives Char food and goes out of his way to make sure she gets to an orphanage. (Like shiba have said, Chihiro is good at taking care of people.)

With Sojo, he shows a willingness to engage with Sojo’s conflicting understanding of Kunishige rather than simply dismissing him as a monster.

You can see this even more clearly with Samura. Samura has a fundamentally different view of Kunishige. He doesn't necessarily blame Kunishige as a person for creating the enchanted blades, but he still believes that their creation and use ultimately led to something terrible. Chihiro doesn't simply dismiss Samura's perspective because it concerns his father. He actually has to grapple with that criticism and reconcile it with his own understanding of Kunishige.

Even his reaction upon finding out his father's killer is telling. After being overwhelmed by a flood of thoughts, his immediate response is to break down and ask why they killed him. It'a not anger his showing. It's grief and confusion to why they want his father killed.

Chihiro’s character is driven by revenge but he isn't consumed by it. His vengeance is part of his character, not the entirety of it. To say that Chihiro’s character has almost nothing beyond his desire for revenge is, frankly, an absolutely moronic interpretation of his character.

Everything you listed is so surface level and doesn't make a character deep. Thanks for sharing your opinion, it read well until you ruined it with that final line. I was trying to have a discussion, but you shut that down quickly by resorting to basically name calling like a child.

It seems like people are prejudiced against revenge stories, and Kagurabachi had to be like Vinland Saga, in fact, everything has to be like Vinland Saga.
Nothing against Vinland Saga, but I don't see a problem with a story where the revenge is completed, and not ignored or interrupted because of some plot twist.

The revenge part was just the prologue so the author could get us to what he actually what he wanted to write about. I would not mind seeing other stories take a similar approach, who knows maybe we get something like that from KGB, but I am not holding my breath for it.

I feel like too many people treat the most basic shonen protags as “deeper” than they actually are. “Badass but he’s actually kind” (oversimplification, I know, but it’s not that far off) is such a generic archetype, but people also pretend that luffy and tanjiro have a bunch of depth to them, so I’ve learned to ignore it, people love to glaze series for the most surface level, cookie cutter things. (I say this as a fan of all 3 of these series, I have my problems with each, but I still wouldn’t rate any of these below a 7).

I mean we already got three contestants announced, one of them already being a massive contender while another already has more experience publishing in the main magazine while the latter "Bachoism" is made by a complete newcomer how debuted o it last year.

But I will say, I highly doubt its either Sango Iwakami or Kongon as those two authors are likely to debut officially without any need to participate in the competition at all.

I think the safest bet would be jump giga authors in general so that is where I would focus my attention on.

Personally I would say Arashi Fujimi is someone i would be intrigued to see participate, mostly cause i think he has a lot of potential, his most recent work is a testment to that:


Hayashi Tatsuya is another that am curious to see more of his work, mostly cause i think he had a very unique idea for a one shot:


Shou Shiromoto is one i have full confidence that he is big contenter to show up in this, mainly cause he was an assistant to both Mashle and Bleach for a time and his one shots kinda show it by themselves:


My last pick for a possible candidate would likely be Shirou Makigyuu, who am honestly baffled has not yet made an official debut considering the high quality that is his art:

Those are my picks mainly from this year and the ending of last year that i think are likely to participate in GFC.

Thanks, but its no problem. I just really enjoy looking potential authors who could make it big and find success. The feeling is always special in some way.

But if you want another type of analysis other than mine when it comes to one shots, Shinuki's tend to be fun to read. I think he still wants the Doremi Author from Giga Winter to debut so bad.

Although Sango Iwakami is another Shinuki is already rooting for his success. If nobody could already tell.

Funny story, I was the one guy before Kagurabachi was even launched that said that Takeru Hokazono would be big and man I am proud to admit I was right to make that call all those years ago. Cause he started on Giga believe it or not.

Having searched, everytime these domain registration surface online, the official anime adaptation happens in the span of a month, with Akane was in like a week while with Kill Blue was with a month, considering how Nue vol 17 will be released on November, a official announcement a month from here would be in the end of October, which checks out, would be pretty much on issue #48 (October 26) or around this time, now the question is if will be announced with a cover & lead cp or just a normal cp, it could be very well like this:

Jump Festa will end on Dec 22, Issue #52 will be published on Dec 23 but it will very likely have the final serialization round happening.
