I was intrigued by this dark fantasy, some compares it to Vinland Saga or Berserk. But I guess its growing popularity is mainly due to the author. Tooru Kuramori is the former Tatsuki Fujimoto and Yukinobu Tatsu's assistant (respectively Chainsawman and Dandadan authors).

I read only the 1st chapter so far, it is pretty decent, but I'm bothered with the pacing. Some parts of the chapter could have been litterally a nini arc, or some great flashbacks and could have built some characters attachment or at least make them more likeable. the whole boat part is too fast imo.I have no idea where the story is heading I might try to read more of it. Its definitely not bad at all, so far but I'm not that impressed. Note that it's pretty brutal.

Art wise, I do like it, it fits the theme, some pages are gorgeous :

Maybe I'll start it once I catch up with a few other series. Perhaps it's because I am an animeonly but I still don't get why CSM is so hyped. I like Dandadan a lot though.

I like the art and some of the characters (though some have pretty generic personalities)
It's also a tad predictable

I am reading, and enjoying, but I can't say it's a fantastic series - kinda wish it was darker (some of the themes, events and characters would easily suit a darker story and this might also give them a bit more wiggle room for interesting character development)

I only read 1chapter but felt exactly as you said, i wish some characters introduced were given more devlopment. and yeah Mc sounded alittle bit too generic to me, based only on 1chapter. It does have dark themes, but maybe it's toned down due to publisher ? I did find it decent/enjoyable but not that impressing.

Honestly if this is it for the Voidmarcher probably the worst depiction of the "strongest" I've seen.

We already know it's the Forest Goddess. Honestly I'm just not excited for anything involving Rummir anymore. Thought they'll be a interesting wildcard faction but man Rummir just suck.

But are we sure it's just a Forest Goddess? And what are their roles in ll of this? The Forest/whatever, the Sea, etc.

Anyway, Rummir got got hard by this. Losing Voidmarcher could probably have long lasting consequences. I want to know how Lalawag willplay this with the Court.
