It's been a pleasure to join you all through the end of the spin-off; I hope we'll see each other again when TOG returns.
That was just obrion's theory - We don't know whether that is true or not yet.The Tower was suppsoedly made to create a new one but no, they aren't that strong
It is interesting that we also have a thing like this to ponder if SIU directly involves himself and supposedly does not contradict with the main ToG (why would he contradict? of course). Yet, if there is an unknown extend of being a bit too free to be in line with the canon, it won't be much different than how we deal with the blog posts right now...That was just obrion's theory - We don't know whether that is true or not yet.
In fact I think - shinshu is the power to make anyone and *any amount* of people an axis. Why I think so and what evidence do I have to support this theory?
So there is an official Tog game called - "Tower of God : New world". Both SIU and game developers has said that for stories/lore, siu was heavily involved. Here is one of the stories here - about how the tower came to be :-
Tower Creation Myth (Data Fragment):
When playing through the main story, you can collect data fragments which put together a small text file that either tells a story and gives some trivia. One of these data fragments seems to be a creation myth about the Tower
“*Long long ago, there were two sibling deities in charge of caring for the early world. The brother and sister used the power they inherited from their mother, breathing life into the frozen land and bringing forth their creations.*
*The son created human beings that were small and fragile, yet tenacious. On the other hand, the daughter created large, strong, and quiet human beings. The two creations seemed to coexist peacefully for a time. But one day, the king of the small humans came to the son and said to him,*
*“God, we are but weak beings. Please help us defend ourselves from the big humans.”*
*The son, who loved his creations dearly, bestowed upon them a power permitted only to gods. The small humans used that power to build fortresses, forever isolating themselves within.*
*When she learned of this, the daughter became furious. The daughter gave the big humans a book of prophecies and gave them an order.*
*“Punish the lowly beings who built a fortress that soars into the sky, who are unafraid of the gods”*
*The big humans did not enjoy fighting, but they wrote down the first lines according to the will of their goddess.*
*“Let there be light…”*
*That was the end and beginning of everything.”*
Imo, The fortress here refer to the tower; The power probably reffering to shinshu .
And anyone could tell that what "light" refers to.
The question is how much of this is exactly canon. I don't have much evidence for it but we'll see in s4
Interesting but hold on wouldn't that mean the tower existed before even the light? That would be crazyThat was just obrion's theory - We don't know whether that is true or not yet.

You still think an axis is still the same as in the blog post?My view on this is more or less like this:
We don't know what the relationship between light/darkness and axis is. We don't know how many stories there are. More importantly, we haven't been told what the causal relation between darkness/light and axis is.
By all appearances the shining ones and urek are in some capacity limited by being in the tower. Bits from the old blog posts that more likely than not still hold true is that Phanta is the top known axis and that Phanta could simply fart away the tower's existence if he wanted to. We do not know if Urek could use his axis powers to either fart away the tower or even defeat Phanta if he ever catches up to him.
Aubrion believes the tower's purpose is to create a new axis. Phanta and his goons went to the tower to claim the new axis' powers for themselves. Or for phanta to be more specific. The family heads climbed the tower and it's implied these process elevated them in some capacity. The family heads being able to stand up to the shining ones is possibly evidence of this. By all appearances most family heads only got so far in their ascension and the burden of their endless lifespan is too much for them. Zahard appears to be the only one of the great warriors who is still in the game in this regard. Technically we can't rule out other great warriors being in the game but I think the setting is heavily suggestive that zahard is alone in this.
So the way I see it, Urek probably could just defeat anyone in the tower if he exerts his full... axisness. But if he acts within the confines of the limits set by the tower or the story he is at then there's a good chance that it is theoretically possible to oppose him and even defeat him. The framing with axis remains that they basically have admin privileges over a story and can simply have a story cease to be.
There's nothing in the story that meaningfully reframes axis from how they were framed before. My take here is that blog posts are canon until the story proves otherwise. Add to that, without the blog posts we have literally nothing to go on regarding what an axis is except the name. You still think an axis is still the same as in the blog post?
Aubrion does say that the entire tower and all its being inside the tower exist for just one being aka an axis like urek or phantaminium and its phanta's will to devour the tower and prevent birth of an axis. Shouldn't that suggest a full power axis > All beings inside the tower combined? At the very least an axis has to be much much stronger than any single being inside the tower. There's nothing in the story that meaningfully reframes axis from how they were framed before. what a colossal troll SIU would be in that case!unless SIU takes away urek's light powers completely somehow which is dumb given SIU focused on urek's light powers for 70 chapters.

It will be outright stupid tbh but SIU is not that bad.what a colossal troll SIU would be in that case!
I think outside god or whoever created the tower/shinsu is a being like darkness or primordial light which created phantaminium and urek/shining ones.while i do understand the premise that Urek >>> any tower related thing, the fact that Urek entered tower unconsciously and has some nerf from it suggests that tower itself is another axis' work and we can't talk about just farting it away. Even the name "Tower of God" feels like it was done by an axis, maybe simply by workshop master on the outside, as we cant really explain workshop being both in and outside otherwise.
Without the blog posts we have literally no context regarding how powerful phanta is or what an axis' role in the story is. We just know the tower is supposed to produce someone immense like urek or phanta.Aubrion does say that the entire tower and all its being inside the tower exist for just one being aka an axis like urek or phantaminium and its phanta's will to devour the tower and prevent birth of an axis. Not sure, tower feels too technically elaborate than a primordial being product: favor irregulars completely, even have a rice pot, expect ascension but may also retard it in itself, have trespassers, outgoers etc. etc.I think outside god or whoever created the tower/shinsu is a being like darkness or primordial light which created phantaminium and urek/shining ones.
The purpose is to create an axis to fight an evil axis just like urek was created to defeat phantaminium.
The wording is more like all beings aka all admins exist for just one being. It does strongly suggest an axis may very well be > all tower beings inside the tower combined in power.Without the blog posts we have literally no context regarding how powerful phanta is or what an axis' role in the story is. This is likely to get too philosophical and endless to discuss, about how this sentence can even be interpreted. I'll just try wait and see. Hopefully S4 will appear with 6 chapters simultaneously in December 2026, then double chapters every week so it will finish in three years and we knowThe wording is more like all beings aka all admins exist for just one being. It does strongly suggest an axis may very well be > all tower beings inside the tower combined in power.

Also the fact phanta wants the tower to be devoured so that the being can not be born.
