WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP THREAD RULES​

#5. Don't post news about series from other magazine or publishers in the WSJ thread, post in the series own thread, but it's fine if you're mentioning other series or magazine to express a opinion or reflection about Shonen Jump.
#6. Any tweet, specially japanese, about news, update or some interesting thing about the magazine or series has to come with a text of what that tweet means and also be on topic, if not it's going to be either deleted or i will edit the post.
#7. Refrain from self advertising or advertising Youtubers videos in the comments.
#8. Constant fanart posts just for the sake of praising a favorite series is prohibited, this rule doesn't apply for official art by Jump artists posted on social media, they're fine to post.
#9. Don't discuss or hype chapter spoilers before Sunday release, only comment if is related to a series surviving status and do it only inside the spoiler tag.
#10. Regarding rule #9, an exception will be made for when we have new series, in this case, spoilers will be allowed only for the first 3 chapters of a new series for the users who are interested in knowing informations and details about the new series, these spoilers will obviously be kept under tags to protect anyone that doesn't want to be spoiled, so don't worry about it.

I think slotting the Nue anime announcement cover right after this anniversary wave and before we move on to next batch is the most reasonable approach to things now that we know it’s gonna be at Jump Festa. If they all get covers I’m thinking Shinobi before Kagurabachi just to give Hokazono more time to not be dead, and then after that Nue can be one of the next few issues before the new batch (where Bleach would theoretically return based on all the leaks?).

If it gets a cover, it's most likely after the anniversaries yeah. It also fits the timing from web register to anime announcement, should be also happening at the same time as Gakuro's fight with Kasha.

Oh nice, an ichi popularity poll? We're pretty much on the bachi timeline then. Although, I doubt it'll take as long to get the results back, most likely we're going to see it get a few covers in between. And I doubt the anime announcement will be bundled in with the pop results as well, lol.

Plus tbh, it’s looking like 2026 is going to be more successful than 2025 ended up being. Roku is a shinobi level hit, animal signal is a mid ranker but it’s getting color pages, and then even an iffy series like under doctor will probably make it a year. Now it’s scary that sakamoto days and witch watch are wrapping up, and I hope we see a new series blow up soon, but I like the trajectory we’re on with new series. 2025 was abyssmal until September, we still have a batch left this year and supposedly bleach will return, and potentially jjk as well. The mag can easily recover. (Not to its highest heights, but to a good spot)

Roku is a shinobi level hit, animal signal is a mid ranker but it’s getting color pages, and then even an iffy series like under doctor will probably make it a year. Now it’s scary that sakamoto days and witch watch are wrapping up, and I hope we see a new series blow up soon, but I like the trajectory we’re on with new series. 2025 was abyssmal until September, we still have a batch left this year and supposedly bleach will return, and potentially jjk as well. The mag can easily recover. (Not to its highest heights, but to a good spot)

Roku isn't a huge success; that manga doesn't even sell more than Shinobi Undercover. Besides, even Azumi Kakeru received color pages before being canceled, so you can't say Animal Signal is safe.

Well nice for animal signal to seemingly survive. Don’t care for it much (I hardly get super invested in non battle/action adventure series) but I do like the recent development that gives a goal and focus.

Under Doctor is probably getting axed until the end of the year. And I don't think JJK will come back as anything to the magazine.

Roku sells a little under Shinobi. Like 1K less. It is more than Kiyoshi and Roboco. Besides, it gets really good placements on TOC. So it is safe somehow.

lol comparing the sales of the 1st volume of a manga vs volume 9 of a well estabilished 2 years old series is definitely the best way to analise the success of a new series huh?

Its pretty unlikely we would have two years like 2025 in a row, but if this time next year Roku is the only 2026 series still around then Saito really would be a failure and need to be removed immediately. I don't think that will happen, but at the moment Roku is the only one we can definitely say is sticking around. I am skeptical of Animal Signal's standing, color pages don't mean definite safety in the long run and its only been ranking above the series that are definitely getting cancelled sooner or later. We'll have to wait and see if it retains its place as a mid-ranker or drops to the bottom once all of those series are gone.

It might be Jump+, but there was a bit of a hubbub about it a few weeks back, lotta teasing in vein of the bleach return that still hadn't materialized, but kinda the same crowd. Now it might genuinely be a single oneshot and its nothing, but I figured I'd throw it in there on the off chance it isn't.
Also either way, I don't think there's any repairing saito's legacy, unless he somehow has a year with 2-3 sakamoto days/blue box tier hits.
