Again, he said the strongest guys would be in the middle so Mira or Laxus or Jellal would be there.

If Mira is below them then Natsu would exclude her since it would mean the strongest are not in the middle.

And apart from that the authorial intent is clear.

Lol Erza was struggling with Kyria and thought she was strong. She was shocked Laxus beat her. In her second fight Erza with clear heart and Benizakura was matched then Benizakura was broken so Erza needed her enchantment. This same Erza tied with Laxus and this same Laxus low diffed Kyria.So Mira tying with Skullion in her weakest form says little.

Skullion low diffed DeS Gray then we saw him tie with Mira while Mira was in her weakest form in their first fight. Skullion was above DeS Gray and Kyria was on par with Star Dress Mix Lucy so even then Skullion > Kyria.

Mashima had Erza and Laxus tie in the same arc he teased Laxus vs Jellal and Mira vs Erza AND had Natsu say the strongest enemies would be in the middle so Mira or Laxus or Jellal would be there. But sure it means nothing

This is why you guys are always shocked when Mira is shown stronger than people like Lucy and Gray and keep thinking she would be surpassed. Happened for the GMG, Tartaros, Alvarez and 100 years quest and you guys are still waiting.

But mashima-sensei also said explicitly that Erza is the strongest woman in the guild. You can't just keep picking and choosing what you want to use

This is being hypocritical at this point. Mashima-sensei literally said that erza is the strongest female character. At no point has Mira being portrayed to be on par with Erza. Mashima-sensei views Erza in a similar way to laxus and gildarts. Mira isn't even in this equation

Mashima saying Erza is the strongest woman in the guild doesn't mean 1) Mira is not her rival 2) there is not another strongest and it doesn't debunk him saying the original powerscaling stands or Natsu comparing her to Laxus and Jellal in the same arc Laxus tied with Erza.

Even if Erza is 100 and she's 99.99 they would still be considered equals like Erza and Laxus when Erza fell first and got up after so even then it aligns.

Mira was viewed just as Erza when Makarov said if he wanted to win the GMG he would make a team with Mira Laxus and Gildarts after Erza had her own team.

Mira was viewed as Erza when they were called the two most reliable members of the guild when Laxus and Gildarts were unavailable.

Mira herself viewed them similarly when she said she didn't think even her and Erza teaming up could be Jura.

Mira was viewed as Erza when Natsu compared her to Laxus and Jellal in the same arc Erza and Laxus drew.

She was viewed as Erza when Laxus warned Jellal about Mira and he agreed.

And she is viewed as Erza by the simple fact that Mashima said he is keeping the original powerscaling in the guild.
