Another thing that I feel is gonna be revealed is that it doesn't appear that Lancelot is employing his mind reading. I guess keeping Cath at bay is using all his mental power, so he's not foreseeing Zeldris' actions. Probably another future benefit for the other KotA.
I'm already predicting it: what Lancelot said to the three knights will be put into practice against an irrational version of him. Lancelot will at some point transform into a berserker, pure brute power but no conscience, while the three, even weaker, can defeat him through superior tactics and better use of their powers thanks to their training with the Four Evils.
The next chapter could even be about this training, and the "limit" would be the limit of the three, which would need to be surpassed.
Nakaba definitely knows what he's doing; he keeps teasing us on purpose.
There's a reason he keeps putting Lancelot through this.
He's using him to build tension and hype in the story because, pre-timeskip, Lancelot used to completely remove any sense of stakes.
To fix this, Nakaba decided to trick his readers with these shenanigans, only to repeatedly reveal that Lancelot was actually nerfed or holding back.
I guess that's just the price Lancelot has to pay for being the strongest.
He consistently portrays Lancelot's strength in ambiguous ways; rather than being hyped through actual feats, his power is established mostly through statements.
Because he usually speed-blitzes his opponents, we have never witnessed his true strength or seen him fight a proper top-tier character.
First, this happened post-timeskip after he defeated the Four Perils. Nakaba then had Anne and Nasiens hype him up, with them questioning if anyone in the world could even defeat him. Yet, in that very same chapter, Ban easily handles him—only for us to learn in the next chapter that Lancelot was nerfed.
Later, Ban praises his son during the Cath fight, claiming Lancelot is the only one who can defeat him. Gawain even calls him the strongest man in the world. However, Galahad easily matches him and inflicts his first scratch, and then the Temu Escanor humiliates him—before it is once again revealed that Lancelot had been nerfed the entire time.
Finally, Chaos Lancelot arrives, hyped to the skies and beyond as being superior to the Demon King, only to get his ass whooped by Zeldris.

This is something that has been cooking for a while:
- Ever since Lancelot appeared in Part 2, stating that the three of them weren't using their powers correctly.
- A Chaos Knight noting that Lancelot's greatest strength lies in his technique and flawless reasoning.
- The Four Evils serving as their mentors, despite being weaker in terms of raw power.
- The fight between Lancelot and Zeldris—where Zeldris, despite having far less raw power than Lancelot, is proving capable of surpassing him through sheer technique.
This is exactly how chaos Lancelot will be defeated by the three knights: by using all their abilities correctly and intelligently Something opposite to what Lancelot became with chaos, because perhaps, if he had maintained his sanity, he would never have been defeated.
Cath made a mistake, thinking that only Lancelot's raw power made him the strongest; he was wrong. What made Lancelot the stronger calamity was also his experience and fighting technique, something that is lost with Chaos Lancelot. which becomes an obsolete mind.

Lancelot didn't really lose any of that. Zeldris praised him for his reactions to his ability in the previous chapter. In this chapter however, he is clearly struggling more.
One thing I want to say, now that we are seeing Lancelot getting hit more is that he almost feels like a glass cannon. He is not really one, he has an absurd amount of power, but his durability doesn't seem to be that good compared to his offensive power. Before he was unharmed thanks to his skills and abilities. But when people manage to get a hit in, they do some damage. He was never the tanky type.

No, he is losing that things, This is just strength and speed; he's fighting instinctively, without reading minds or planning anything. It's going to get worse in the next chapters.

I'm guessing this chapter is suppose to show not only that Lancelot can be fought on even ground, but how one would do so. The key takeaway seems to be speed... not just dodging, but also interrupting his attacks. Considering Percy has been shown quite speedy, and Gawain has teleportation, the field is likely more even then it would appear on paper. Tristan is an unknown, but last we saw, he seem to have similar speed to Percy when they were fighting Beltreipe.

Zeldris has a good approach in this fight. If that is the biggest reason for why Lancelot began to struggle or whether it is actually a mental thing we will see eventually but regardless, Zeldris avoids a couple of mistakes others have made in the past by instinct. He does not get into the bubble. He stays at range where he has a better chance to observe and react to anything Lancelot does. He disrupts Lancelot's pace and combat flow. He strikes back with physical force, not with magic. Overall he gives Lancelot's usual style very little to work with. But I don't think it will last.
Ultimately, I think this chapter was necessary. Nakaba is showing us what is going to happen in the big battle against Lancelot.
Specifically, the reason Cath would leave Lancelot's body and take over Ban instead is that Lancelot keeps holding back his Chaos self.
However, I think there will be moments where Lancelot won't be able to hold back his power.
If I had to guess, it will happen when Guinevere's life is in danger.
Whatever the case, things won't end that simply. Zeldris telling the demons to go to the abyss wasn't for nothing.
He felt the the power of someone surpassing his father but he was surprised that he was fighting a fraud.
Of course, that is not the case. In the next chapter, Lancelot won't be able to hold himself back anymore and will just break the seal—possibly destroying the Demon Realm along with the Behemoth.
I'm not entirely sure why, but maybe the miasma will get to him or Guinevere will get hurt, causing him to lose all reason and destroy everything.
I just hope Zeldris manages to survive.

So, I've been thinking about Chaos and its aspects. Is there any chance that Chaos actually lost all of its power when it created everything?
For example, Chaos may have lost its darkness aspect when it created the Demon King, its light aspect when it created the Supreme Deity, and its lifeforce when it created the Sacred Tree.
It kept losing its traits as it separated these aspects from itself. Chaos eventually became a mindless will because it kept shedding parts of its own being—even Cath referred to it as such.
But the question is: what exactly did the Demon King and Supreme Deity seal if Chaos had already become a mindless will?
Is there a chance that, once Chaos became a mindless will, it was taken over by its own life spirit—the Great One?
In other words, is the Great One simply what is left of Chaos after it shed all of its primary aspects?
Or perhaps The Great One is the real Identity of Chaos because Chaos has always been a mindless will ?
So zeldris lives for as long as lancelot holds back. I suppose that tracks. Sending lancelot to purgatory would be a sound strategy. Risky for hawk of course but the combination of purgatory miasma and the sheer pasage of time should solve the situation. Though even if the strategy on paper makes sense the second lancelot enters purgatory and his waifu is in danger then everything that causes him to hold back is gone. Hmm, that could also be what causes zeldris' defeat i suppose. Any danger comes to the waifu and whatever caused that danger is immediately desintegrated.

This was about Arthur's mind, not Chaos's, The power of chaos was merely materializing Arthur's thoughts on that wings, something Nakaba confirms in the databook.
but in fact Chaos losing his powers for create the gods makes no sense; they are merely creations. Only Cath and the Lady of the Lake make sense as part of him, his malice and his infinite magic in the form of entities.
I did think of that, but is there any chance that there's a retcon here? It's not the first time Nakaba retcons events.
It could be a retcon because Merlin officially announced that the Age of Godswas over after the Supreme Deity's death in Cursed by Light.
Or Maybe it's not a retcon , it's more like Chaos was already retrieving its power when the Demon King died, as the balance of the seal broke and Arthur awakened as the King of Chaos.
Perhaps that's why the Demon King and the Supreme Deity sealed Chaos in the first place—they felt that Chaos would consume them once it acquired a vessel from humanity
I feel like the reason they sealed her in the lady of the lake's story didn't make sense.
And that's why the Lady of the Lake started going crazy and kidnapping people to find a vessel for for her after all these thousands of years of doing no such thing; she didn't want to be consumed by Chaos.
Anyway this is all just speculation based on Cath words that Chaos is a mindless will and also the fact that it's weaker than it should be when Cath has most of it.

I do think what he previous told them will be used by them in the coming fight, but I doubt Lancelot will be irrational or mindless. That would kind of defeat the point of them needing tactics. Plus there's the whole Guinevere situation. What I'm expecting is that the KotA will push Lancelot to the brink, causing Cath to do something stupid that endangers Guinevere, thus freeing Lancelot from the contract. That would allow the KotA to "win" without Nakaba having to give Lancelot an actual lost.
I expect the training will just be them pointing out the flaws the other KotA have and giving tips.
Why speak as if there's suppose to be a huge gulf between them? Canonically, Zeldris is second only to Meliodas, who was on par with their father. Considering Lancelot isn't fighting at his best, and Zeldris still had trouble, it's more or less how such a fight should go.
Zeldris has a good approach in this fight. If that is the biggest reason for why Lancelot began to struggle or whether it is actually a mental thing we will see eventually but regardless, Zeldris avoids a couple of mistakes others have made in the past by instinct. Sure, the situation between Lancelot and Zeldris will likely be reverse imminently, but I'm guessing this is just the foreshadowing to how the KotA, specially Percy, will fight him. Given what we know on paper of their abilities, Percy should have the best chance against Lancelot, as long as he doesn't have to deal with his mind reading. Afterall, he was trained by Lancelot and recently now has a similar ability to absorb magic to enhance himself. Aside from Lancelot's ability to completely erase stuff now, don't really see what could really "stop" Percy.
Excalibur is an addition, not a necessity; it makes the user more powerful, but he doesn't use the power of chaos because he's not Arthur. We don't even know how much chaos Cath uses now; imagine if he's only using a third of that power, and in 7Ds he only used a tenth, lol.
Not the most eventful chapter, but I can appreciate Zeldris getting his moment in the spotlight before his impending defeat. I don't really understand why Nakaba made him use this brand new lightning attack instead of the much cooler Dies Irae technique from NnT though. It's also weird that Lancelot was unable to absorb it even though it doesn't look any bigger or stronger than Nanashi's cross slash. The rules behind the absorption are somehow still unclear this far into the manga.
The new Indura has a really wacky design and apparently some unusual abilities as well. The fact it sealed Lancelot away the moment it appeared is a little worrying since this could mean that he's just going to one-shot it the moment he breaks out. I really want to see some proper Indura action at least once in the sequel so I hope it puts up a decent fight. The way things are going I'm guessing Lancelot is about to get a power-up, which seems unnecessary given how strong he supposedly already is, but I suppose it could be more of a mental thing. I can't wait for him to eventually lose the Lady of the Lake so that he will finally have to invent an actual fighting style instead of just spamming the same attack over and over again using her endless magic reserves.
Also I'm not even going to say what the gate to the Abyss looks like.
Ban would put up just as much if not more resistance than Lancelot so I doubt Cath would accomplish anything by switching hosts.
I think the idea is that Zeldris was caught off-guard the first time around since he had never seen the technique before, but now that he knows what's coming he's able to react to it better. Lancelot did something similar in the previous arc with how he got better and better at dealing with Galahad's magic the longer their fight went on.
I feel sad for Induras in this series. They are originally the product of a great sacrifice by the demons who contract darkness in face of a hopeless situation. Then they are kept in the DR like animals, like dangerous prisoners. And whenever a great threat appears in DR, these Induras are released to protect the realm!!
That's a very nasty behavior from the race of demons in this story. DK was a bad character who summoned Indura of favor, but these guys are supposed to be better under Zeldoris' rule. Even then, they see Indura as mindless beasts who deserve to be kept in prison while putting in the way of danger to die for the realm. And this one is the third Indura to be sacrificed.
So naturally I'm not very fond of their involvement in fights. But aside from my personal preferences, I can't see this new design with such level of magic abilities be a versatile combatant here. The time Indura was a better candidate far a fight, but it was defeated in a blink of an eye!
Reacting to Shining road is one thing, but Nakaba owes us an explanation about why the light beam didn't change its path toward Zel after he dodged it!! Demon bros are breaking the plot once more, right?

Excalibur was the key to awaken Arthur as the King of Chaos and it fully merged with him.
And Arthur blood control Chaos.
So yes Excalibur is a necessary.
Cath can uses FP Chaos with the exception of Escalibur that is nothing less.
If Cath can't even control not even half of Chaos then that would mean him absorbing the remaining of Arthur won't change nothing yet we know he would be stronger going by Merlin and his statement.

Excalibur has fulfilled its role as a key and now awakens as the true sword, returning to its master, The Lady of the Lake states this in chapter 339 of 7ds. No, it is not essential to the power of chaos; excalibur just as the role of sacred treasures is in 7Ds, but much greater because she has her own power of chaos.
Indeed, Excalibur must be connected to Arthur's soul.
