Because Lancelot began powering up, his magic vortex went wild, rapidly increasing in strength and power.
Speaking of that Vortex, you were wrong all about it. Zeldris in one of the recent chapters confirmed that it's the Lake's magic, not Lancelot's as you claim.

We really need a detailed explanation on hazy moon and honestly on the abilities of the others too.

I'm afraid that "Hazy Moon" and "Nova" are just "thematic labels" rather than "actual standalone innate abilities". What Lancelot did against the attacks of the Perils is unmistakably identical to the mechanism by which the Lake "swallowed" the combined magical attacks of the 7DS. Also, every description by which Lance's magic was described is "wated-based": "Stream, Vortex, etc."

For Tristan, he only used Nova in "Heal Nova" so far, and it doesn't seem to me any different from "Be Well!" or "Invigorate" that the GC members use all the time. That's why I won't rule out the "thematic labels" possibility at all!

If we don't get explanations the moment Tristan gets his ST... :twitch

At least Hazy Moon is Hero Type so it can do a lot of things.

Hazy Moon is a homing magic that locks onto targets , that's pretty much all there is to it.

People still ask about Hazy Moon when it's been shown what it does many times.

Hero Type Magic. Shining Road is the only homing attack.

Hero Type Magic. Shining Road is the only homing attack.
Waning Moon of Destruction" is a homing magic that locks onto targets, which is why their clothes remained intact while the targets themselves perished.

In contrast to "Shining Road," which is an energy blast that travels in a single direction, "Waning Moon of Destruction" is composed of pure light.

Because light radiates in all directions, this magic can lock onto multiple targets simultaneously

At least that's how I understood it , pretty much all what Lancelot does is homing magic.

Lancelot can also create energy weapons, so it's not just homing attacks.

That's why we need a detailed explanation:
What abilities are part of Hazy moon, what come from the lake and what are learnable techniques/spells?
Lancelot devoured the lake thanks to Hazy Moon and he uses its power via Hazy Moon , the lake herself said Lancelot holds the strongest power which made him special.

Lancelot has mind reading , shapeshifting as part of his fairy heritage.

He also learned Zero Sign and he possibly have some variants of "Snatch" too , he did snatch Carthur's teeth and his sword before then.

I mean Zero Sign itself used to considered part of Snatch , it was described as Ban "Snatching" the perception of others.

I just think that Hazy Moon is such a simple ability that it won't receive an explanation, just like Meliodas's True Magic, which was obviously destruction hax.

I mean, it depends on whether you take the Demon King's words about Meliodas being a source of destruction as an explanation of his power.

But I've seen some people here refuse to acknowledge that Meliodas's power is destruction hax just because it didn't receive an "official explanation".
.
But whatever the case, Lancelot's ability has been shown many times , it's a homing magic.

To add on to this “The Moon Of Eighteen” also wasn’t a homing attack
How do you know that ? , you just don't know what's Lancelot's target with that attack.

Shining Road is an energy blast, so it targets a single enemy, whereas Waning Moon of Destruction is pure light that spreads in all directions, meaning it has multiple targets.

As for Moon of 18, personally, I think Lancelot's target with that attack is their human essence, which bypassed the Chaos protection. That's why they couldn't regenerate, because Hazy Moon has always been a homing magic that targets humans or living beings in general.

My point is , use your imagination to figure out what's Lancelot target with his moon techniques.

I mean, look at Snatch, for example. It's an ability focused on snatching targets, but we just didn't know the full extent of what it could snatch.

Ban can snatch objects but he can also snatch physical strength, even Zero Sign was described as snatching the perception of others.

Your definition of homing is different.

I think what people are most confused about regarding Hazy Moon is Lancelot's strength and why he absorbed the lake in the first place.

However, it all clears up if you just accept that Hazy Moon's default target is Lancelot himself, meaning he has pure magic flowing into his body.

In the 7DS / 4KOTA universe, magic is separate from the body; characters don't enhance their physical strength using raw magic like they do in Hunter x Hunter, Dragon Ball, or Naruto.

This is a special case for Lancelot. That's why he's the strongest and most special of all, and why he managed to contain the lake inside his body.

So basically your using headcanon to explain hazy moon and all the related techniques like you do with most of your theories, got it
Hazy Moon being homing magic isn't headcanon , when you realize that , use your own thinking to explain the rest of Lancelot's set of abilities.

I don't use headcanons in my theories but my theories are sometimes hard for some people to understand , like you for example.

It's all right , I don't expect a lot of people to understand my theories , I also post them so I get to say I called it when it's revealed to be true 😂

However, it's Tristan's magic, "Nova," that really needs theorizing, as we have no idea what it actually does.

I've seen him use a healing ability that has "Nova" in the name, but it looks like basic healing magic that any Goddess could use.

Why would that be related to his unique ability?

And what is up with his connection to stars anyway?

We know he is tied to the Book of Stars in the game, which is all about fixing space-time distortions.

It is quite possible that this specific ability is only relevant in the game's lore.

In the manga, it’s his Nephilim nature that takes center stage—but that's just my personal opinion
