Don't cross him out just yet. Jimbe may not have much to show or do here in Elbaf but but that dosen't mean he's falling behind. At least he protected Loki from Imus attack.

Sanji has better defensive feats so its definitely a sword vs shield scenario. And some new hints are saying Sanji uses the CoC defensively. If its true... Just reinforces that.

They are definitely equals at this point. But they have been.... Wings of the PK, indeed

Yeah, and some people are still inclined to believe Luffy will need ACTUAL sword and shield. Our boy is quite a fighter but he can't use anything beside his own fists and legs. Wano is best example of it. He was still just punching but with sword in his hand and it actually get in his way during fight. So, let's just leave that sword and shield alone. Mayby Nika used them but nothing in history have to happen in exact same way after all.

Hmm, so right after sanji decides to not take hits on purpose he also goes "I am going to be a shield!". Something designed to take damage. And sure, the context is that sanji won't be pointlessly taking damage anymore or pointlessly sacrificing himself but rather purposefully and meaningfully serve as a shild for luffy but its still more awkward than it should be. I suppose we will see some thematic stuff later to properly contextualize this but to me it'd make more sense if Sanji was luffy's spear or something.

I guess being a Shield now, means NOT become a sacrificial lamb and jump to death in front of Nakamas.. if not with the intention to be a real Shield.. strong enough to survive and Serve his captain...

after all how can you keep being a shield once you get yourself dead or broken..
