More=/= better. Levia has the best written CB fight thus far. Everything made complete sense here. Anchor is competing with Motherglare for worst. A dragon that somehow is not used to fighting in her dragon form and I don't even know what the logic is behind Gray's strat here but it was effective? Lame all around

I’m not even saying Anchor is a good character, but Scissor was absolutely pathetic, it’s impossible to defend that. There’s nothing memorable about him literally nothing and he’s even the one who ruined someone else’s fight. I have no idea what it is you’re trying to defend.

Motherglare doesn't have hax but her raw power is much superior.
Probably but this alone is not enough imo.

Earthbuild is so far the most impressive one because he has both raw power and hax power and he fought against many strong people and is still not defeated. A rare thing in shonens, at least in the last few years.
Anchor because of his special hax magic and he only showed us his power so far in his human form and he also is not defeated so far.
Motherglare doesn't showed us much, the most impressive thing was that Erza need the power of the continent to defeat her. Her battle against her was also longer and better.
Levia has also special hax but Anchor has more has spells which he can use and Levia was already shown in his dragon form and was not really impressive at all. Maybe he is stronger than Motherglare but I put her still on the 3rd place because she was only defeated in her human form.
Scissor well did he show us anything that was impressive? Not really. So he is not only boring because the two spells he showed us were boring but also not very impressive at all.

But overall off them are stupid to not use their dragon forms from the beginning, all of them could have kill their opponents already if they really wanted. Thats why compared to former enermies and fights these enemies and fights are not written good.

You are somehow correlating Scissor performance to Levia's and claiming the fight was ruined when it had a logical conclusion. Despite his lack of panel time, Scissors was taken down by a fellow Dragon. As for his character, I'll take him bickering with Levia over Anchor falsely claiming to a dragon god anyday.

Honestly, you’re really forcing yourself to defend this; the CBs weren’t actually good villains, in fact, it would have been better if they hadn’t appeared at all but one thing is clear: Scissor is the most forgettable of them all.

According to FT wiki Miraxus' move is called Megaton: Thorn Lightning (雷汞ライコウ・荊イバラ御雷みかずち Raikō: Ibara Mikazuchi

This interaction was so cool that I honestly doubt Mashima even planned it. Using the cursed thorns as a "lifeless" conductor to keep Levia from sealing it was clever as hell.
I also wonder if he can even seal curses which do not function like magic.

Thats what I hate the most about these battles. We don't learn much about their personalities, we don't even got a flashback how they formed their team in the past and how they fought against other dragons and against Acnologia. Or maybe their reasons why they hate humans so much. Only because they are dragons? I don't care which one of them is now really the strongest, thats one of the least important things. There is so much more I want to see from the enemies and side characters. Depth, developments, more spells/attacks, flashbacks, etc. Without that I don't care how strong they are. They could be the strongest characters in the whole FT verse and they would still be boring.

The only two things we can say about the CB is that they are strong enemies and that the battles are longer (compared to some other enemy groups) nothing more.

Former enemies like Grimoire Heart, Tartaros, Spriggan 12 or Diabolos were still the better villains overall and I miss things what they had. Most of the new enemies are boring and some of them forgettable like you said :/

It doesn't even seem like Mashima was interested in them; I don't see the point of including them, other than just to drag out the arc.

Yep sadly. Or he already lost his interest just like he did with F&F and Gold Owl.

What surprised me this time he not even gave the female one (Motherglare) a special or rare or dangerous magic/ability like he always did with his female enemies.

Sherry= Doll magic
Juvia= Water
Angel= Celestial Spirit magic and later Angel magic
Erza Knightwalker= Ten Commandments (she had the ability from Haru the MC from Rave)
Meredy= Maguilty Sense
Ultear= Time Arc
Kagura= Gravity Magic
Minerva= Territory
Seilah= Macro
Kyoka=Enhancement
Brandish= Command T
Dimaria= Age Seal
Irene= Enchantments and Sage DS magic
Yoko= Yokai Summoning
Misaki= Dimension DS magic
Luso= Dream Death World alchemy
Ennie= Purgatory World alchemy

But Motherglare? Nothing that was special or impressive or dangerous not even cool.

I love Mashima made all 4 of them use plant/plant like power.

Then there's Elfman just straight up ripping Dragon throats apart.

he could have just dragged out the arc by making the other enemies stronger and by making the fights longer

my problem is that people are ignoring the fact that he was taken out by a cheap shot

Elfman, the 6th Generation dragonslayer.

I would have loved if this bit alluded to his first takeover of the beast. Showing a bit of rampage, worrying the others, especially Mira. And THEN in the midst of the rampage, killed SR and revealed he had control, although for a bit. And I wished there showed some contradiction between his Beast Soul and Levia's Soul capturing magic, another allusion to Mira and Seilah's fight.

I have a feeling Levia isn't defeated yet.

Maybe will get a Laxus and Elfman team up instead.

Always thought they would be a great duo.

Elfman's takeover made sense. He literally took over the conscious Levia and smacked Scissor. Well,atleast it took enchanted Laxus and Mira to defeat Levia. Hoteye and Angel contributed too.

I know Laxus fans were pissed with how it went but atleast we see Laxus as a teamplayer. If I'm not wrong,except for the FT vs Acnologia way back in Tenrou,this is the 1st time we see Laxus doing a combo attack with someone. Also,this is a Mira upscale if were going by her onscreen fights. She just proved that she can keep up with Laxus. By extension,she can also keep up with Erza. Sadly,Hiro was just too uninvested to try harder for Mira's fights. Her best fight was still against Freed.lol.

I'm glad we can move on with Earthbuild and Anchor now. The fights against CB were overall underwhelming so far. It really felt that they were just thrown in so that other characters aside from Natsu is atleast doing something. I'm still pissed we didn't have any Diabolos involvement in this arc. It's also too late to do that now. Just give my girl Lucy her well deserved spotlight and then we're good.lol.

FF,OSechs and CB are just here to make the manga longer.And so far,my call of "100YQ will end around september next year" does not look so good anymore
