I read Inugami to Suzune, the GFC oneshot from Monday's issue. It's about a boy who receives a mysterious box from his grandmother containing a bell which, when rung, summons a god.

It's definitely my favourite of them so far, this one feels the most well constructed and paced. I can also picture how it'd work as a series which I can't say for some of the others.

It's debatable, yes, after all Kagurabachi has been in first place many times, and has already won the Taukimanga award, but you don't mention that, you prefer to ignore it.
And another thing, Bleach is a story whose theme is grief, and Jujutsu Kaisen had arcs in which the MC couldn't save anyone, like Jumpei, the Shibuya incident, and Fushiguro's sister. This is far from being a comedy.
I didn't mention it because awards aren't a reflection of an ongoing manga's overall quality, but rather a snapshot of a specific point in time. Rankings are the ultimate indicator of quality. As you are aware, cancelled manga can still win awards; after all, Straighten Up! won and ended quickly. Kagurabachi won in 2024, and today we're practically kissing 2027. Factually speaking, Kagurabachi has declined over the last three years.

Ichi the Witch, Someone Hertz, and Undead Unluck also won this competition, so are they bad manga? I don't think so.
Even Shinuki has said countless times that rankings are the definitive indicator of quality; you're the only one who says that because of Kagurabachi and ignores the rest.
The real decline was Elusive Samurai, which started selling over 100k and ended selling less than 50k, despite lasting quite a long time.

Viz released Red Hood physical volumes. C'mon. lol

And I don't think Under Doctor is at risk now, but I think it's getting the usual Saito Boost because it's the only battle manga that didn't instantly flop in the last 2 years.

Ignore the shark... it's dangerous waters out there.

To be fair, Under Doctor feels more like a genre-hybrid at this point between the medical/character drama/episodic life/action depending on what gear Kyo Tanimoto wants to shift it into for that week, don't think it's that simple to categorise it and put it down to your battle manga theory.

Regarding Saito and Kagurabachi, I'm still not sure. Saito is literally the guy who took it out of the Nakano trenches of near cancellation fears in the initial run and immediately put it as a top performer in the magazine until about a year ago when it would occasionally jump around from the top and middle, to where it is as of the past 2-3 months. Then again, I don't subscribe to the idea that he hates all of the Nakano titles. He gives Me & Roboco about as much love in the TOC as Nakano did, Sakamoto Days hasn't gone the usual way of being a veteran that gets less priority in the lead up to its ending, Akane-banashi continues to do well.

I have saw some people question if the reason for Kagurabachi being last place is because of the content of the chapter itself, which was quite dark. Not sure that quite explains it but at the end of the day I still don't think any of this really matters, even though it does look odd especially with it twice in a row.

The real problem is the "twice in a row" thing.

The rest aren't ignored. I've enjoyed and seen many series I love become bottom dwellers and end like just recently, Kinato's Magic after all, or the longest one Agravity Boys, or countless sports and exorcist series.

It's alright to like a bottom dweller, you just have to be realistic and admit that it (Kagurabachi) has quality issues hence why it's there, twice in a row.

Exactly being there multiple times in a row is a significant concern that's impossible to ignore or rationally hand wave away with an award from 2024.

That's debatable, it's dead last twice in a row and has been last at other times in three years, suggesting that it's plot is not good, character development is not good, and that it may only get a single anime season.

Bleach is an action comedy, JJK too.
So how is this still not considered trolling and derailment of the thread? Is it just because the mod also doesn't like KGB and enjoys the toxicity?

That’s high praise coming from you. I mean that. What did Wani do to go from a comedy one shot to this kind of genre? You have to wonder this for some authors. Rookies or veterans.

Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #50 (2026) - Information!
Akane-banashi (Cover & Lead Color Pages)
Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi (Color Page)
Me & Roboco (Color Page)
Shishikabane (One Shot by Maki Gyujirou, Color Page, Golden Future Cup #7)
Can we get a Class 2B Hero Destroyerz color page. It's becoming the dream Isekai/transported to another world series I've always wanted in Shonen Jump and the past battle with the speed hero was phenomenal arc.

Besides not being 24h with my face glued to the thread some of you really needs to get over this fantasy about me disliking Kagurabachi, it's nearly 2027 already, if i actually disliked this series you guys would know it and i wouldn't even bother to talk or post information about it, i do have my share of dislike is with a portion of the fanbase :grin
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Reading the back-to-back comments between Shark & Stivie, excluding some details that i had to edit, overall there's no personal attack or straight up hateful statements, someone thinking a manga has problems or whatever isn't breaking the rules or i would have to do the same with many users in this thread, but i do have 2 things to address and ask:

Moderator Notice:

1. @SharkBait please refrain from keeping pushing the narrative that Kagurabachi might be axed or the anime might have just a single season and etc, you keep repeating these things to a point where it becomes obnoxious and toxic, almost like you're provoking which is against the rules, so please stop doing that or i will have to start being more strict.

2. @Stivie you don't need to answer every comment from Shark or even from other members everytime they make a comment that isn't just positive things about Kagurabachi, many times you just come off as too "argumentative" and end up dragging the topic and derailing the thread which also is against the rules, sometimes is just okay to agree to disagree and not answer back everytime 👍

~ Shinuki

With all this said, i hope we can continue with the discussions in a healthy way, thanks!

Understood. I will stop speculating on Kagurabachi's serialization and its future in the magazine.
