This chapter seems to rather make the point that his germa genes are switched off. I am not sure if he will be using his mutations in the future though the vibe appears to be that he isn't. Which is a bit weird considering that the strawhats doing things they find unsavory to be of more use to luffy is not unusual. Like when zoro begged mihawk to train him. I suppose another way to look at this could be that his germa exoskeleton allowed sanji to take even more hits and now he isn't. Though it still feels a bit awkward that the very chapter where sanji goes "I am going to be luffy's shield" he also foregoes an insanely strong defense.

I was of the same opinion. Him being able to overcome the genes and use them under his own terms seems like the right move.

I was also so sure he had some for of Lunarian Genes because Wano kind of alluded to it

I suppose this is as good a chapter as any for sanji to also beat dead horses. Maybe for sanji's journey or whatever his focus on his family makes sense but there was so much focus on this back at WCI that it's really getting redundant.

This is the first time where Sanji beat an opponent much stronger than Zoro's, which I never thought I'd see. Was hoping for black flames but that is such a small nitpick it doesnt really matter.

Lol, I would frame it differently. Zoro's fight was an offense contest. Sommers' omen-clad thorns vs Zoro's CoC clad swords. Sanji's was a defense contest: whose guard breaks first. Sommers was racing to land the kill before Zoro figured out Conqueror's. Killingham thought the Omen armor gave him the edge. Both bets failed.

The difference in information mattered too, i think. Zoro was already leaking CoC by instinct, so Sommers knew what was coming and went on the offense; that also kept the field fairly level.

Killingham went in convinced Sanji didn't have it at all and he got blindsided. Despite that advantage, he was trying to tire out Sanji rather than ending it in one go implying his offensive capabilities weren’t at the same level as Sommers.

In any case, it’s less about who's stronger and more about who misread the matchup. I think Sanji said it best: Zoro is the sword, he is the shield, and both fights mirrored that.

Despite all that, Sommers did look like a wuss at the end compared to to Killingham who was looking more like a knight. That down to artwork and character design and not their actual strengths.

LETS RECAP---- Df power didnt work anymore cause sanji conquer his fears

Regen can be bypassed ALSO with Conquerors...

For sure the nicest chapter so far, Sanji recognizing that his body is not some modified weapon by his father, but it's his own body with the gift of a hearth and resistance from his mother... this is the apex for him, that definitely made him understood that he must protect himself at all costs and that include his nakamas - that's why he need to become stronger (and durable) to be Luffy armor/shield.

This was the best chapter we've had in a while.

So Sanji has CoC now, where do we even go from here?

I guess defeating Sommers and Killingham weakens Imu and Luffy counter attacks and drive Imu away.

This is the first time where Sanji beat an opponent much stronger than Zoro's, which I never thought I'd see. Was hoping for black flames but that is such a small nitpick it doesnt really matter.

The panel work was also impressive. I haven't been liking the panel placement recently but this just proves Oda still has it.

I wish we could get the reactions from King Moe and Nik. This forum would be a war zone right about now lol

I’m not disagreeing with the overall KIT.

However they both are mid. Tbvh… I’m hella disappointed in Jinbei. These holy knights are like… below admiral level.. not even YC level tbvh

if it wasnt for REGEN from the get go..they would have died ASAP... on this chapter alone Killingham got his neck snaped like 10 times...

and Sommer's have been Sliced like a Puzzle,, from 10 chapters ago... not to mention the last time we see him face Zoro's ....

is cheat, over cheat,, their real skills are their DF usages and their Haki Skills, the rest are just addons cheats by Imu's ... and considering they relay TOOOO DAAAM MUCH,,on infinite regen, their Blocking Skills, are almost Null---

now when you are facing scrap,,, it is a walk in the park,, when you are facing ADVANCED CONQUERORS HAKI USERS,, you are risking your LIFE,,,
cause that shit, seems to be in a path to BYPASS EVERETHING,, every defense, and every cheat they can hold...

if this path continue,, JUST SLOWING DOWN REGEN, will be the LEAST OF HIS PROBLEMS....i m pretty sure Zoro and Sanji are goin to keep growing, and walk over just "slowing down regen" to "outright kill them"

Gunko is FUBAR,, from the moment you get to tier 2..- there s no way back,, only way is TIER 1- and Get the fuck out FAST- (Like Shank's did)..

if you can literally lose the freaking arm...better... thats the only way to fully cut a conection to Imu's...

She is way to close to imu's not only for the pact, if not for the gift of eternal youth too.. sadly if she somehow betrays Imu's and start spilling the beans on his secrets or outright attack him-- she is totally done for... and the first of the lissst isssss...

I also feel like that would play into his mother saving him. Though thematically a rejection on the account of both (sanji and his mother) also works. I still feel like Sanji keeping his feelings, the mutations and putting them in the service of luffy and not judge would be the best fit for the story and the biggest FU for judge.

Hmm, I wouldn't be surprised if the way germa modified the princes was by adding genes to them.

So I am a bit confused, when sanji talks about the insanely strong haki in his leg does he refer to normal armor haki or to cladding with conqueror haki?

Hmm, looking back on the story a bit... We know that BB kidnapped pudding not too long ago due to his interest in her third eye. Which is basically a setup for the strawhats to run again into her. Not only that but the BB pirates also have garp. Pudding obviously started as an antagonist but she had a pretty violent flip as sanji complimented her eye which caused her to become straight up a sanji goon (with a splash of tsundere in there). And of course the two kissed and pudding had the memory removed. Now, with all that setup... we have that now sanji has taken a step in finally embracing and loving himself. Ivankov spells it out, the love of the suicidal is worth it. But sanji isn't suicidal anymore and in that he has found newfound seemingly boundless strength. So now I am wonder if he'd actually commit to pudding in an upcoming reunion.

in resume she might return to her 77 years old age-- and at death's door cause the eternal youth is also stopping a fatal disease---

if it truly is like dat SHE IS DOOMED FROM ALL ANGLES... if she betray Imu's she died--- if imu dies... she along all most of gorosei go to hell with him.. all the regens , omen and gifts in GKS get cancelled,, maybe even the mystical weapons also gonna stop working.
