If gunko's youth at this point is due to imu then I wouldn't be surprised if the reason gunko wanted to live was for the remote chance of running into brook again. It should be nonsense from her perspective maybe but not all things have to be rational.

it is definitly due to imu..and we know he can remove it,, and you returning to your original age.... Sadly for saturn he was 200+ , and he was a HUMAN not someone from a special race,, like the giant, that could live for centuries by their own....

Now.. what it picks my interest is that in the scene she says she want to live,,, just for curiosity i would have like to know if

A) She was still rather young,, but sadly affected by some disease, and he grant her eternal youth and also stopped the disease

B)She was close to her 70's and diying from natural causes,,, and imu grant her,, eternal youth and also stopped the disease..

if i have to choose..it is A) cause eternal youth stop your age exactly were it is...lets say you are on your 60s ,,you ll be on your 60s forever...

dont turn someone from his 60s to his 20s .. like some kind of Bonney power..

ergo when Imu's punished Saturn ,, his time resumed, and he go to be on his 60s to probably 350 + in seconds..

Whateaver the case,, HER REAL AGE IS 77 until the date,,so if what happened to saturn's happens to her..she l be 77

I think you guys are missing something here, what if Gunko is actually connected to Sanji's genes somehow? Judge worked with Vegapunk, who knew about Imu and the Void Century, so that's definitely not a coincidence. What if Sanji's fire isn't from Lunarian genes but actually comes from a reversed immortality pact? That would explain why his eyebrows keep changing direction lol. And Shanks losing his arm wasn't to escape Imu either, he actually transferred his remaining Haki into that Sea King. Also, if Gunko suddenly turns 77, where do all those missing years go? You can't just erase time like that, especially with Toki's fruit existing. What if those years get transferred into Sanji's leg, which explains the insane Haki he was talking about? It's not Conqueror's Haki, it's Age Haki, and that's exactly why Roger was too early. He wasn't waiting for Joy Boy, he was waiting for Gunko to turn 78 so the pact could reverse itself. Also, has anyone noticed that Oda has never shown Gunko's right eyebrow and Sanji's left eyebrow in the same panel? People laughed at the Shanks twin theory too, but this actually explains pretty much everything.

Looking now at the lasts panels, he only unleashed CoC when he recognized that Zoro is strong and will be Luffy's sword and he gonna be his shield, so, recognized that finally he's strong enough to protect luffy

I honestly dont know about a connection between gunko and sanji's, neither i have any clue where exactly Sanji's fire come from,, i always tough it was an Oda's touch since he is a Cook,, and Cooks need fire for it... Shank's was already out of reach from imu's cause he was tier 1.... but considering he didnt have that arm, even if he gets close to imu, he cant be controlled,,,

it was all planned by Oda's honestly he losing an arm into the sea king it was a way to tell us he is betting in a better future, a new dawn,, in LUFFY, he get rid of the tatto and all that is wrong and what it represents,, all of this came to be a full circle, the moment we realize it was the arm he got the tattoo... and that once he got TIER 1 PACT...

thats the reason it didn't bother him to lose it in first place,, all of this while Saving the most important . LUFFY, so in a very poetic sense, he is glad to have lose the arm, for those reasons...

it is amazing how all the fates intercross at the same time ---

He got rid of the pact--

He save Luffy, to be what he is Now --

He bet in a better future- one Luffy could provide

all in one STRIKE.

the sea king eating his arm it was a very very very small price for it.

This is Peak Sanji in The Story, I know you guys like Mr. Prince in Alabasta , Water 7 Sanji, WCI , and Baratie but Elbaf Sanji is The Absolute Peak of the Character. There has never been a Higher Point for Sanji than This.

indeed,, love all the backstory and he tracing back ,, very important moments of his life, and realizing how wrong he was about his life, and the idea to become a sacrifice for others, rejecting himself and his own body, due to the events on Germa kingdoms and their experiments., also the action was amazing, each kick send killingham fliying trough 6 or 7 houses at the same time... nothing can stop him now,,, Killingham Df... Longinus, Armor,, everething is totally useless, it seems like every new shit Killingham is pulling out, it is inmediatly broken and became useless,, cant wait for #1198.

LONGINUS IS DONE FOR..dont exist anymore,, not only the tip got broken , the whole Shaft got destroyed in that last Kick... IS OVER for that weapon.

You should apply for the writer job at Konami and write the next Metal Gear Solid. Why would Shanks like to transfer his haki to a seaking again?

Im not a big fan of people trying the recontextualize Shanks losing an arm early i the story to anything related to haki and or IMU. Haki was not developed at that stage, it was more like your usual killing intent. Ha he used haki he wouldn't have lost an arm at all. But know since we know more about IMU they say it was intentional. If it was really Shanks interest to lose an arm and get rid of the tatoo there should be other methods, including asking a teammate to cut it off.

Long story short I thought that this chapter was amazing. Finally a moment where Sanji really shines.

i wont say it was intentional...but FATEFUL ...in the same time he Lost it, he also got rid of that SHIT once and for all...when ,he Lose the arm, and Saved Luffy, he choose,, and it is a choosing it is paying up right now, Luffy might be the only being capable to get rid of that shadowy fker,,, Luffy is the only one capable to beat him and bring the new dawn everyone is waiting for. thats why a simple arm, is something he could gladly sacrifice for it...

So to summarize this chapter:
1. Sanji accepts himself, activates germa genes and whack the shit out of killingham.
2. Sanji seems to have absorb germa genes into his normal body (eyebrow reversal back to normal with no drop in power)
3. Killingham activates Omen, sanji pushes his body to the next level.
4. Realizes that his new body is so dam strong that even while being attacked, he takes no damage feels like he is the one attacking.
5. Realizes that he is strong enough to be luffy's shield, and also acknowledging that Zoro will be luffy's sword.
6. Activates Coc.

So... the real question that needs to be asked, since we saw Sanji's gallery of fights...
Can Sanji beat Doflamingo now?

But that might be too easy a question. If Sanji gets caught in the threads like he did in Dressrosa, can Sanji break free?

I would suggest that breaking bindings might still be difficult, since your skin turning hard doesn't necessarily help muscle output from unused muscles. Also, striking strength isn't the same as strength that can be exerted in awkward positions.
In this chapter, Sanji's striking force may not be able to overcome the lunging force of the spear jab (not super sure on this because of framing), despite the hardness physics working out in Sanji's favor, which points to slightly less straightforward physics. Sanji also has less strength in his arms as a consequence of favoring his legs.

I'm thinking this because Jinbe's binding-burst strength isn't greater than Gunko's binding strength, which suggests Oda is still 100% willing to sideline the crew when needed, and right now and honestly since the start, the binding meta is strong. Bindings will probably be one of Oda's preferred tactics til the end.

Luffy, with extreme Haki use and inflated muscles, is what it took to break Doflamingo's strings last time for reference.

The chapter was better then the spoiler made it. Still as said before, its still not made clear ot me if Sanji loses the germa enchaments or have made them his own now. But now I even gotten a deeper question, is Saji now aware he is channeling conquerer? He has found hsi resolve, even I can see that but like Zoro, conquerer is not made clear to everyone.

as he is now on this chapter definitly yes...he can break any tread or kick him away ,, no matter the amount of Haki mingo put on it,, Mingo's also have Conquerors but definitly not at the level of Zoro, Sanji, Or Luffy now..., if he is facing it as he is on this chapter, his speed will be even bigger than Mingo's and no matter how much Mingo would try to block, if Sanji's use the conquerors is using now to bypass legendary weapons and armors,, Mingo's stand no chance at all, against him or Zoro,,, MUCH less Luffy.

we are talking of Enemies,, that existed like 7 Arcs ago lol...not to mention he is awfully rotting in Jail..

And yet, Crocodile was a new world pirate who went from rotting in jail to tangoing in the war, to thriving in new world.

Character from 11 arcs before war went on to scale up for skirmishes. And is now thriving as part of a "yonko" crew.
Do you see why that reason isn't enough?

Also, no one is reckoning with what happened to Jinbe, Guys, Oda can write anything to delay Sanji if he has to. Just saying "he's stronger" is going to lead to the same situation where Jinbe has been restrained by a devil fruit power of a non conqueror and people don't know what to do with it but say Gunko is "stronger."

Huh? Where did that come from? 🤔
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Ok, I readed it. Honestly I didn't noticed before because raws weren't clear enough but Sanji turned Killingham into human wrecking ball. He destroyed soo many buildings with his sorry ass which was really cool. Turned out he also trained a little using Killingham as punching bag but by the end he succeed and awakened conqueror. Judging from last panel since Sanji shattered Killinghams armor he may die by next chapter. Also I can't wait for Toei to tackle those "wiggly" eyebrows of Sanji. It's actually kinda weird that they change directions like that. Anyway, guess after Imu will be kicked out giants will have a lot of work with rebuilding but that won't problem. There's a lot of Adam wood laying around after all.

So what does this mean for the rest of the crew, does this mean that everyone else in the crew is suddenly irrelevant?

Because, if so, then I don’t like that. I’ve frequently seen other people say “Monster Trio” and “Wings” said to make the others look irrelevant elsewhere, so I’ve grown wary and unfavorable towards this because of that, and Oda doing all this just makes it look even worse.

So if so, then I don’t care how much you guys hype it up, if the rest of the crew is irrelevant because of hype nicknames, then I’d say that’s bad. Bad for waste characters and bad for the story overall.
