I find it odd that Lance is called Tristan's best friend. Forced parallel? There was a time where Gawain and Tristan were lacking screen time but even after it changed I never got that vibe. Percival and Lancelot feel much closer. And before the timeskip it felt that Nakaba was going for the Percival x Lancelot and Tristan x Gawain for duos among the four. Tristan and Gawain also do have entertaining interactions.

Yes but the timing is dogshit, the dream sequence feels unnecessary and the important part - the 3 KotA training - looks sidelined, rushed and uncreative. Not sure what is worse - Tristan struggling in base or Beltreipe somehow keeping up with him (although he probably is the strongest of the Perils with a sword).

Also, are those Tristans new ST or ordinary swords!
The pacing has been terrible since Chaos Lance.

I hadn't noticed that Tristan was sparring with Berto. I will find it very funny if the training is off-screened. Not just because Nakaba isn't fond of training arcs but because it'll make me think that the current Perils are so weak that Nakaba needs to offscreen it like this. Without Chaos I don't see how they could be a threat to the trio.

Shining Road is a homing attack , it would just reflect back at Meliodas with twice as much power.

It's counter vanish that could be useful though , assuming it's possible to counter vanish such magic power in the first place.

But If Meliodas could do that that , he would have done it to the backlash of the Nemisis attack instead of sending it to the lake , right ?

No. I can even see it turning it into a homing attack focused on Lancelot.

I don't think Tristan's current swords are his ST. They are probably just for training.

I'm disappointed purely because placing the focus back on Tristan and the three knights to save Lancelot just isn't as interesting as it should be. They're still fundamentally boring characters who haven't been written well. The friendship between Lancelot and Tristan is so bad when Nakaba actively has Eli mention the comparison between those two with Mel/Ban. They're also pathetically weak, being trained by commandment tier fighters (at best, with wank) against someone who is above the Gods... lol - like what are they doing to do? They don't have enough time to get stronger before Lancelot has destroyed everything.

Nakaba once said he didn't want to make Tristan the MC because he would need to kill his parents to do so, and honestly, he should do it sooner rather than later. I would've preferred if he went down the route of making Eli/Mel use their divine powers to seal away Chaos as a temporary measure, in a desperate bid to give the three knights enough time to train since they're the destined ones capable of fully destroying Chaos - which as a consequence costs them their lives. At least then, there would be more stakes in it for Tristan and actual character growth since ''I can still save mom'' is less complex than ''I lost both my parents to my best friend, but I still want to save him''.

Maybe Nakaba is going for this anyway with Mel giving up his life as part of the fight against Lancelot, although it would've been more impactful emotionally if him and Eli chose to do it together for the sake of their son. Like, an active decision for his benefit rather than Eli just responding to her Kingdom being devastated and giving her life to save it.

I also just don't see from a power-scaling point of view how Lancelot is stopped if the above direction isn't possible anymore. Mel could get his DK powers back but even then I don't think he can beat Lancelot by virtue of Chaos immortality.

Lancelot will be probably going to the fairy realm next.

Full counter reflects the direction of the attack , not its inherent homing nature , shining road doesn't have a direction , it's a homin attack.

Really? I found the parallels glaringly obvious. Come on Tristan even scared Lancelot just like Meliodas scared Ban. For me at least Tristan and Lancelot are clear foils to one another:

There is of course their circumstances - both princes, mixed race and sons of legendary heroes.

More importantly the similarities between their characters - off the top of my head we've had both of them trying to act cool, both being burdened by their destiny and trying to hide it while at the same time putting insane expectations on themselves, we even have both of them hiding to cry in secret. The big difference is that Lancelot's power makes it harder for people both in universe and out to see through it.

And lastly there is the thing that Elizabeth pointed out this chapter - Lancelot was stopping Tristan's rampages so now it's time to return the favor.

There is an interesting parallel I've been thinking about regarding Lancelot's absorption of the lake.

We can find a similar mechanic in the light novel series Re:Zero, specifically regarding how "mana poisoning" works.

In Re:Zero, mana poisoning is a lethal condition that affects individuals with flawed mana gates.

The main character, Subaru, suffers from this exact issue after destroying his gate which made it unable to release mana.

To stay alive, he originally had to visit a specialized doctor to regularly siphon away his built up mana.

Eventually, he formed a contract with a spirit who now drains it for him automatically. Without this constant venting, he would die; his body simply cannot process mana like normal people because his broken gate traps his internally generated mana, causing it to build up dangerously without any natural release.

Conversely, another character named Reinhard has a "defective gate" that makes his gate act like a total vacuum. It doesn't just build up his internal mana, but violently sucks in all the ambient mana from the surrounding atmosphere.

By all logic, he should immediately die of severe mana poisoning. However, he was born with a secondary, incredibly rare trait called the "Excess Mana Circulation Constitution."

This condition allows him to safely and continuously circulate that ridiculous volume of mana entirely within his body, transforming him into a an unstoppable powerhouse and the undisputed strongest character in the series.

I believe Lancelot operates similarly to Reinhard in this regard. He essentially possesses his own version of an "Excess Mana Circulation Constitution" because Hazy Moon sets him as the default target for its magic.

As a result, the magic constantly recirculates inside him rather than building up, which is precisely why he doesn't die of mana poisoning like other who tried to drink from the lake.

No way Lance will go to the realm where his family is. And he doesn't even know he'll be a big brother soon.

The scars have nothing to do with how the relationships have been portrayed and handled. And their personalities aren't really similar.

Even in the chapter where they decided to train Percival is the only one who suggested to make a weapon for Lance. When Lancelot came back after learning Zero Sign it's not with Tristan or Gawain that he was hanging out.

Hold on a second, the Fairy Realm can't be destroyed in the future because Kardiez possesses a fragment of the Spirit Spear, right?

Or does the Sacred Tree survive through any of its fragments?

If so, it wouldn't matter if the main tree is destroyed, as others could still tap into its power.

They have a different vibes, but that doesn't mean the similarities between them don't exist. Even their last interaction before Lancelot was possessed was used to highlight that Trustan would have done the same.

About Percival, people can have more than one friend. I'm not saying Tristan and Lancelot have some uniquely strong bond, but on the other hand Percy and Lancelot also don't have a uniquely strong bond. It's obvious he'll also play a big role in the fight, he is the main character after all, but I'm not seeing the vision with him.

So the dream just continued. Genuine trolling. Nothing about Ellie's coma is solved. Just Meliodas back into track. Nice! I really loved it. These bits of great writings is what I love about Nakaba. The most pleasant surprise!

I love GC and would like to see some actions from AAs, but I admit the current appraoch is so good without a doubt.

The cover for the upcoming volume is Lance and Guin. His total dominance over volume covers is interesting lol.
