Yeah, I agree. That's why I hope he will wake up like half way through and go back to fighting Imu. Though it's curious that he went after Zaza specificly. Mayby instincts were suggesting him that he have to stop her first before she successfully kidnap the children? Killingham probably ordered her to get children that weren't saved yet to the ship. But that won't help much because even if Sommers is still alive he won't be able to finish the mission. Anyway I kinda feel like Luffy losing control for a second already happened once before. I recently finished rewatching Wano and back when G5 first awakened Luffy forgot what even happened to him before that but he immedietly regained control and get back to fighting Kaido. This time may be little bit more complicated but I'm sure things will go back to normal because either someone will help him wake up or will do that on his own by remembering his current goals.
Btw, I'm still not disapointed with Loki. He's beaten badly so things would go diffrently if he WASN'T. Also I think he just waited bit too long with turning into hybrid form. He was fighting quite long both in his regular form and dragon form so he's probably just running out of steam. Yeah, I kinda wish he could regulate his power level better because like he said it himself being THIS big can be problematic. Honestly it would be very helpful for him if he really could shrink to make it easier to fight small opponents or limit damage caused by his attacks.
I hope you’re right and that he wakes up halfway through to reassert himself. In Wano, it did seem like he blanked for a second and was more in it for the fun, but he immediately made it clear it was still him just as you said. If I’m to guess where Oda is going with this, I think Luffy was removed from this fight so that when the situation in the Underworld becomes critical, with either Loki or Hajrudin about to die, he’ll swoop in and save the day. I’m also guessing that Imu will call him Nika this time instead of Joyboy, and then he’ll declare that he is Luffy and fight on par with him.
The Zaza point is fair. Instinct or curiosity could be steering him there, since he did notice something the last time we saw him a few chapters ago. But if we do get confirmation that there’s still some form of agency in him even though it seems like he’s purely functioning on instinct, that would put this issue to bed.
On Loki, I agree. He is NOT a disappointment at all. According to WorstGenHQ, his hybrid form fought Imu's current transformed state for quite some time, and Oda only cut to the fight when Imu was about to deal the final blow. Imu also praised Loki too. He is certainly not a fraud, and he has the best endurance to boot. If only he could shrink…
