#6. Any tweet, specially japanese, about news, update or some interesting thing about the magazine or series has to come with a text of what that tweet means and also be on topic, if not it's going to be either deleted or i will edit the post.
#7. Refrain from self advertising or advertising Youtubers videos in the comments.
#8. Constant fanart posts just for the sake of praising a favorite series is prohibited, this rule doesn't apply for official art by Jump artists posted on social media, they're fine to post.
#9. Don't discuss or hype chapter spoilers before Sunday release, only comment if is related to a series surviving status and do it only inside the spoiler tag.
#10. Regarding rule #9, an exception will be made for when we have new series, in this case, spoilers will be allowed only for the first 3 chapters of a new series for the users who are interested in knowing informations and details about the new series, these spoilers will obviously be kept under tags to protect anyone that doesn't want to be spoiled, so don't worry about it.

This is the 4th batch in a Goddamn row to be like this, to be entirely or almost completely consisting of veterans & returnees with next to no rookies at all.
And this is the 3rd batch in a row to have someone who just had their series end last year just come right back to the magazine not even a year later.
2 big series are about to end & Saito is not even bothering to try anyone from the new generation to see if they can hold a series of their own anymore, being way too content on keeping the old heads around forever.
I absolutely hate 2026 & I want this entire batch to flop.

I admit I do feel some concern though with the new batch. If Sakadays is going out with the batch alongside WW, that's more battle/action shonen going out that Jump has struggled to replace.

WW is getting a color page, which gets the editor text saying it's the climax of the series and Shinohara author comment basically confirms the end, while Sakamoto has no color page which is why i'm just saying it might happen.

It feels like that too, but would that mean they continue to rock an open slot or is cannon master surviving another round?

Sakamoto Days also might end next week, only with no color page, this chapter was the end of the fight and it felt 100% like the last chapter before the final lol, it says will go back to the everyday life next week.

My prediction is that the new manga will cover Witch Watch, Cannon Master and the GFC oneshots slots, while Sakamoto lives until it has enough chapters to fill another volume (with its slot being used by more oneshots) because Saito hasn't been able to find a replacement for it.

All the rookies are going to Jump+ because the idea of being able to work at their own pace (weekly, biweekly, monthly, or until you make enough chapters to fill the minimum amount of volumes required by your initial contract, with freedom to take multiple breaks) and lasting for a long time with just high views is more alluring than the high risk-high reward deal of WSJ, where you have to endure a weekly hell without breaks for the rest of your serialization (which can be as short as 15 chapters if the EiC doesn't like you) for the hope of scoring big with readers and getting more promotions, merch and anime.

Woah... a lot of bizarre things happening all at once tonight.

I can't say any of the 3 new series immediately grab my attention? We don't have full previews though so I shouldn't judge, but I don't know if the sport romance one picked the best time to show up in spite of the absence. I am pleased to see Gondaira's return, mouthful though that title is, so hopefully he has an interesting idea.

Witch Watch ending jumpscare... I will have to see the pace of next chapter to make proper judgements, but I am given a lot of pause. In my mind the absolute necessary moments are Nico and Morihito having a scene and Keigo/Nemu having their own, briefer though it may be. This plus the necessary finish Shikimi is doable, but I can't say I love the speed. Still, we shall have to see.

What I can be happy about is that it seems like they are playing it safe with not axing any new things besides Cannon Master for now, so that gives at least 1 more batch to really feel the waters for who needs to be on the chopping block next. Even if it's hopeless for Hal, I can take joy knowing it'll be almost guaranteed to be his longest series at this point. Next axe wave will almost certainly hurt more than this one though.

Thoughts on new batch:

Jean/Tintin - honestly would've rather seen Suganuma come back or something, this artstyle kinda makes me uncomfortable

Gondaira new series - didn't read Yozakura but looks ok from what little there is

Tennis - Kinda looks like a fusion of Himaten's artstyle and Blue Box's concept, could be fun

If anything, this batch (and the past year in general) does nothing but prove how desperate Saito is with how bad the newbie-heavy 2025 went (10 veterans this year vs the 3 we got last year made a lot of difference IMO)

A somewhat general comment:

ToC:
- Under Doctor is in the bottom 10 again (that doesn't scare me)
- Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi this high in the color rankings? (They might as well have given it the cover at this point, haha)
- Greykeith: 7th and 9th in the opening rankings + a color page, that’s good! (At least it’ll make it to 4 volumes)
- Kagurabachi: It’ll get axed in favor of Sakamoto Days (just kidding, that’s a ragebait)

New Batch:
- Jean is in Danger!: It's surely a gag manga series (i like the tintin design thing) but that's not for me
- Mr. Hizuki from the Ginza's Street Police: Between the 3 of the new batch, it's the one that inspires me more (I still don't understand the type of series.. maybe a police exorcist one? idk really..) i'll add it on my reading list
- With you, The Tennis Club Member Next Door: That's a combo of Blue Box/Hima-ten and a glimpse of Someone Hertz (Not my type of series, but the bluebox orphans prob are happy)

2025 series are so much worse than 2026 I can understand it, night and day difference. But part of his job is to guide the newbies well, so the criticism is fair.

The horrible performance of most manga serialized under Saito's reign (Someone Hertz was the sole survivor of 2025 ffs) have shown that the current editors are a complete disaster. Manga that while good, were obviously too niche for the magazine (Beethoven, Ping Pong, Ekiden), extremely generic and by-the-rules titles (Embers, Harukaze, DttF, and to some degree Shinobi), completely mismanaged titles with obvious signs of editor intervention (Kaedegami, Alien Headbutt, Kinato, Otr), obvious duds (Hakutaku, Nice Prison, Gonron, Mage, Hero Girl), a bunch of zombies that refuse to die (Kiyoshi, Under Doctor, Animal Signal, HAL), and just two titles that can be considered successful (Ichi and Someone Hertz, and I'm sure Ichi was pitched by Nakano before Saito became the new EiC). It's a mystery how Saito hasn't been fired yet.

How are Animal Signal and Hal zombies lol. They're literally at 19 and 20 chapters currently, they're surviving a single axe round.

Also like looking at your other claims, Hero girl had a very popular oneshot, so it wasn't an "obvious dud". And Mage had no real obvious faults, it was just an unfortunately generic series.
