Discussion What's up With Maschenny and Jinsung

In Season 3 Episode 100, Maschenny was shown on (the lowest Floor of) Cheonhee's Floating Ship:

It's then revealed that she was keeping Jinsung trapped in a golden ball. She tells him that Baam agreed to be trapped in his place:

In Season 3 Episode 108, we find out that Jinsung is guarding the entrance to the Nest:

I have a couple pertinent questions here:

1. Why did Maschenny ask Jinsung to guard the entrance to the Nest? This is actually two questions:
   1. Why guard the entrance of the Nest?
   2. Why Jinsung?
2. Why is Jinsung doing Maschenny's bidding?
   • She shouldn't have any leverage over him right now.
     • With Baam in the Suspendium, he's beyond even Maschenny's reach.
   • Guarding the entrance to the Nest offers no assistance against Traumerei.

I don't know enough about the second to attempt to answer it. In the first place, we don't even know what Jinsung knows about the current situation. Presumably, Maschenny briefed him about Traumerei's impending arrival, but even that is not clear. And even if we take it for granted that she did, I see no way for guarding the entrance to the Nest to help Baam against Traumerei.

More to the point, Jinsung's actions aren't actually helping Baam in the slightest. The Teleporter on top of the Frozen Waterfall requires an entire year of preheating:

So unless Baam breaks out of the Frozen Waterfall himself, no one will be able to get to him for at least one year. Guarding the entrance to the Frozen Watefall doesn't buy Baam any time. It doesn't make his escape easier. The only benefit from Jinsung's actions is to Maschenny. By keeping the Lo Po Bia outside the Nest, Maschenny can continue to hide her flagrant treason. Jinsung's actions prevent them from making it to the Teleporter Ship and realising that the Princess doesn't actually have the Irregular captured.

So why is Jinsung doing Maschenny's bidding?


For the first question, I think I've already hinted at my answer.

Maschenny needs more time before her treason is exposed. She doesn't want to reveal her hand yet. I think she wants Baam to at least return from the Frozen Waterfall and chat with them again before the Lo Po Bia interrupt them. If Maschenny was actually hoping to receive an item from the Suspendium, that would be when Baam hands it over to her.

As for why she chose Jinsung in particular, I see two main reasons:

1. Maschenny doesn't want to reveal her (or the Khun Family's) betrayal yet, so she couldn't guard it herself or ask Asensio to do it. Jinsung was the only card available that she could play.

2. Maschenny was setting up Jinsung to die to the Lo Po Bia or Traumerei.

You make a strong point, but I disagree I think Maschenny wants to delay the Lo Po Bia family from getting Bam out before they notice he’s in the Suspendium because as Lo Po Bia Orari stated that “he’ll wait for the main force to get them out”(implying there is a way to get out with help from the outside) so Jinsung is preventing them from finding out so they wouldn’t report back to Traumerei.

I thought of an amazing theory because of your question !
iirc back in the wall arc (in the hidden grove battle) it was stated by that cobra that fh was sad because of his sons dying and hidden grove team mention that his response was totally different from khun edhan and that he seems to cares about his pets to an extent and probably maschenny know about this behaviour of fh that's why she wants jinsung to kill them or weaken them enough so ascenio can kill them because in family head perspective he sent them to capture baam so he will thought that baam kills them and go after baam to make him pay ......

Perhaps this whole nest arc has been a test for bam set up by maschenny to see how much bam cared about jinsung and is he willing to start a war just to save him ? And to see Can he break spells When bam enters the nest it was a yes to the question , so she probably planned to kill jinsung infront of baam to earn his wrath and to give him acrinak(than ancient bieng power) to boost his growth and to make sure he survives in the upcoming battles of others(lo po bia , zahard army) trying to steal him . Maschenny probably brings jinsung in the nest knowing that it is protected by spells and if bam manages to break through 2cnd wall (which is protected by spell powerfull enough that only fh and zahard could break it ) then he should be able to remove the spell which is sealing acrinak ( the ancient one ) and get his power . but since family head himself got involved much early ( maschenny said that the game has gotten much bigger than she expected) she probably sends jinsung just so he as (rest as my first para )

However i thinks that in the end when bam gets ancient power suddenly the main force of lo po bia will appear and bam will face them and most likely annihilates them and when traumerei sees this he will most likely do the same thing to fug forces and jinsung to make baam pay and bam will see this most likely go berserk on him and luslec will appear and will remind baam that khun and etc are still alive and he needs to get them outta here and then baam uses his scnd thorn ability to get them outta here and he will probably start a war against then great families

Basically maschenny got what she wants damn my hand are at my limit

To me the bigger question is who exactly will be patsy to mascheny's schemes here. I can't imagine her ending up a criminal and enemy to the empire. Another possibility is that mascheny here is simply following orders from people higher up in the pecking order. Zahard, adori... Mascheny definitely has an interest in whatever is inside the suspendium. I suppose another possibility is that light treason and ruining a war for the army is not enough of a crime to actually threaten her position. Yuri helped bam repeatedly and she still exists... Mascheny in turn is not helping an irregular, she is just using one. And conceivably to zahard's benefit?

Maschenny isn't following orders from anyone. There's really zero evidence for that. I don't know why that theory is so popular.

Regardless, trying to brand Maschenny a criminal will probably make enemies of the entirety of the Khun Family.

If a princess from the Ten families is executed it can create a rift with that family especially if the head is fond of that princess so I think in usual cases they get sealed(like Eurasia Enne Zahard)

Yuri too was imprisoned. I think this is standard procedure for all Great Family Princesses and not just Princesses that are beloved by the Family Leaders.
