Question Logia and their nature

Okay hello guys, I follow one piece since a long time ago. Well, today I'm sick so lot of free time resulting to a lot of questions traveling in my brain. And one question merge in my head this morning.

Logias are intangible right ?
In MHA Mirio is also intangible but need to activate his power. But logias donc need to activate it like him or Katakuri, who is a special paramecia.

My question is : why don't they sink in the ground? As if they're hit by a surprise normal attack they won't feel it.

I know I'm mixing two different universes but if somebody can give me a logical explanation I'll be glad ^^

Logias do need to activate their powers. For example, when Luffy accidentally landed on Smoker and Ace in Arabasta.

Crocodile explained that he trained his Devil Fruit to the point his point would turn intangible as a reaction to attacks. Katakuri uses his Haki to see the future and change the shape of his body around attacks.

They cant sink because they still have mass unlike Mario whose power are completely different to that of a logia, Mario's powers were copied off Perona!

You know what that is a great question. Why don't Logias sink in the ground? I mean Caribou was stuffed in a barrel and I assume he took the shape of it. I can see CC turning into gas and escaping thru the air vents lmfao. I can see Cocodile turn to sand and fall thru slotted shit. I support the fact that they can "sink" but not sink in the literal term, more like becoming intangible and forcing their elements thru smaller spaces and in that sense it can look like one is "sinking". Oda should really make CC do this at some point in the future for some comic relief.

The fact that they are intangibles without activation is what makes a logia, well, a logia.

Logias don't have to work on their reflexes or their obs Haki (Katakuri aka special paramecia, is the only one known to be able to do it) like you say to dodge.

And I'm 100% sure that it was just a comic scene in alabasta like everytime Nami is able to hurt luffy. Or Oda just didn't think yet of the idea of logia this far.

This confuses me. I don't see why anyone would even ask "Why can't logias just go through stuff?". The answer is blatantly obvious and simple: Logias are not made out of stuff that can phase through matter. Take ace and fire for instance. Imagine you have a flamethrower and aim it at a giant boulder or the ground. And then someone fires said flamethrower at the boulder or the ground. What would your response be to someone asking "Why isn't the fire going through it?".

While Ace and Smoker scene was humorous, it's not the only example of Logias being caught off guard. Moments later after Luffy hit both Smoker and Ace, Smoker smashed Ace's face on the floor.

Or on a more specific example, Franky explained that Caribou let himself get attacked to hide that he was a Logia.

Either Caribou is able to "deactivate" his intangibility, unlike Luffy whose body is rubber regardless of his will, or a Logia must activate it in first place. Crocodile and Enel must have trained their abilities to the point they don't have to activate it anymore, as implied by Crocodile.

^Maybe it is something like that. There could be stages of fruit development too, until it's awakened. I've never really paid attention to logia's because they're kinda written to make readers feel how powerful a villain/user is - so I get confused about how strong they are and all the advantages they have.
