A LoneLobo Review
Hi guys! Like always if have little time for reviews at the moment. So I thought of a way to do a review without using the usual 3 hours I need for every chapter. This is what I've come up with: I will only focus and the main aspects I think are worth of discussing etc. when it comes to some chapters. However, in this triple review only the first chapter gets this kinda treatment.Welcome to a LoneLobo Points of interest / review.^^Chapter 616: Anniversary of Revenge
Invading Fishman Island
Invading Fishman Island
The cover shows us this week Rika, the young girl who gave Zoro a rice ball made with sugar in chapter three. Just in case you forgot
Funny thing is, she is still making rice balls... Anyway, my prediction for next week is that we will take a look at the small town Orange, with a focus on Poodle and Shushu. I think Oda is going to stretch this cover story out. Talking about stretched, the chapter begins with an announcement throughout Fishman Island. Luffy and the (stretched) Megalo, with our lovely princess inside, hear that as well. It's from the border patrol, which cannot reach the palace, and about some people who invaded the island. These people are Hodi and Decken riding on some see monsters along with their crew. Some people get to say some things. Interesting here is that they do not like the Sunny Pirates and that Jinbeis "gang" is a part of them. So the Sunny Pirates seem to be an opposing crew. They then split up and just Decken and Hodi advance towards the palace. It's time for tea
The first time after the crash into Fishman Island we jump to Robin, who is enjoying a ride on a fish bus... that is SO awesome. I really like the idea. Oh, and she totally owned the soldiers. Seems that she still is at her best when running away. She searches for a Poneglyph... well, what else? Anyway, it was nice to see Robin again. Another jump brings us back into the Shenlong Castle. Zoro, being the guy he is, took care of the pirates. Neptun wants to be unchainged because he thinks that Luffy kidnapped Shiratoshi, but the crew disagrees and says that Luffy would never do such a thing. ... Well, he did not kidnap her... but he took her with him... Funniest thing of this chapter: Neptune comes up with the exact same plan Luffy came up with. This really made me laugh so hard xD
The Centre is not the Centre
The next jump takes us to Franky, the last person we finally meet again after the crash. He is at the Forest of the Sea and talks with some guy. The scenery is really nice, I really like that huge picture. There are lots of whales and even a white one (remember Moby Dick). The guy Franky is talking to is Den, who does also thinks with a Don... Tom's younger brother. We then learn that Fishmen and Mermaids of the same family do not resemble each other. When a family member of the past was a shark, it can take many generations for a child bing a shark to appear. Basically, the genetic storage of them must be huge and there do not seem to be just binary pairs of dominant and recessive gens. It seems to be a lot more random than human evolution. Den also criticizes this very human way of thinking in categories. Well, but he does not reconsider that it is a part of our evolution and that we have always put up hierarchies and such. Him being part of a different kind of evolution means that he thinks a bit different. To put it more briefly, humans are part of structuralism and fishmen seem to be part of deconstruction. Funny thing is... Hodi and his crew decide that they are better than humans, therefore they put up hierarchies (=structures) and become more human that way. It's interesting to see some cultural theory directly in One Piece (those who want to torture themselves, read Derrida on deconstruction...). Sorry for my rambling here.^^ Anyway, Franky presses his nose and his hair changes. Awesome.
Dragonball
Hodi and Decken arrive at the palace, which was cleaned by Zoro. Neptune and Decken argue about the disappereance of Shiratoshi. Not knowing where she is, Hodi reminds Decken of the ultimate way to find her. Decken then pulls a Tao PaiPai and flies after her. Not knowing what is going on Zoro just stands there and says nothing. The chapter ends with Megalo, Luffy and Shira having fun and laughing, while "madness approaches". It is time to show off your defending skills now, Luffy.
Predictions
What will happen next week? That's a very good question, like always. Luffy and Shira arrive at the Sea Forest, then Decken will appear and attack Luffy. Jinbei will see this and join the fight. Maybe Franky will do something as well. Oh, and Decken will be owned, I'm sure of that. In the palace Hodi will piss of Zoro or something and they will fight. But the plot will intervene and the fight will stop, because Hodi is the boss of this arc and Luffy always get to beat them.
This concludes this review, take care and wait in anticipation of the next one. Although there won't be a review of Mad Wanze this week, be sure to check his reviews out as well. Oh, and if you read Fairy Tail, I posted a review about the latest chapter here.
