Theory on estarossa being mael

on estarossa being mael who had the sunshine grace its fitting since lucifer was considered gods best and most beautiful angel but lucifer ended up becoming a fallen angel turned demon and lucifers sin was the sin of pride the sin of pride is associated with lucifer , Lucifer's name means "Morning Star" as in, the Sun, and mael had sunshine so it fits that mael ended up falling in with the demons
you know gowther could easily have a magic that placed an illusion over maels appearance making him look like an older meliodas because of maels size being that an actual adult so he had to pick an older meliodas rather than chibi estarossa

because of maels size mael would be much bigger than meliodas and actually be the size of an adult so gowthers illusion would make him look like an older meliodas rather than chibi estarossa since gowther wouldnt be able to change maels size so if he put an chibi estarossa illusion the illusion would be easy to tell for when estarossa attacks they will try to go hit him like they would try to hit meliodas and thats how estarossa would have fought. etc making mael look like an older meliodas was less suspicous
than making him look like chibi estarossa since their would be dissonance between how he would use his actual body etc
Mael´s name brings to mind a certain angel from Abrahamic religions and myths due to it resembling the angel's name. That angel being Samael who is a particularly nasty being that has been regarded as both good and evil depending on sources. In some versions, he is considered a Fallen Angel and in some others he is regarded outright as a demon. This is further reinforced by the fact that Mael shares the same epithet as Samael's, the archangel of death.

Great thread. Well Ive got to be honest this one is way better than the poll on whos Estarossa. I wish I could laugh that poll but its just so childish and stupid, so nooo. As for Estarossa is Mael, hes leaning towards direction. The only problem is if how long these peeps, you know who you are, would be salty if this finally happens. To add insult to injury if Escanor would die because of Estarossa becoming Mael, I really dont know if these peeps would be able to overcome of what NS have chosen its route. These guys are too one sided I mean lets be real Estarossa have been the most famous character in NNT. Everytime hes mentioned NNT will be a hit. He wasnt even in that panel the previous chapter, just on a convo, but look how it surge NNT's popularity for this week. Anyhoo discussing of what youve discussed, yeah hats off to Gowther for twisting everyones mind like who could have thought he have a power even the demon king could be penetrated. Chibi Estarossa is sort off like a charm made by NS to make him more loved despite hes from DC which did a great job. This might be a convo after Estarossa but what if he has 3 decrees with the sunshine coming to buffer its effect making him sane would be a perfect match against Mel with 5 decrees. So I just gonna say it first here since you did a great job on creating this post.

I wonder if Mael let himself be possessed? When we see the Esta/Elizabeth flashback, he says something about wanting to end the war. Maybe Gowther found out about this through his ability, and offered the whole Estarossa thing as a solution?

Alternatively, Gowther could have just used his magic to find out Mael's feelings about the war and used that to his advantage, kind of like Babidi and Majin Vegeta

Nah, Gowther considers it a sinful action, implying they did it against his will.
Plus, he's been portrayed as a big victim of the war.
